jmatchett I adore you but you need a better bucket list.

Those are the 5 A-list types. There are several other smaller ones (for instance, I made it to Hawaii, which was on the list).

I have no wish to skydive, or even to ride a motorcycle.

Never been skydiving. Is it true you don't breathe during freefall and that your skin absorbs all the oxygen you need?

Although I have ridden motorcycles. it can be fun, but too many idiots on the road to make it practical. I keep my license up to date but I don't own one now. After rebuilding the carborator on my last one I never could get the electrical system to work right. I finally found other more interesting things to occupy my time with...

So you're saying would you rather be the 2000s Eagles or win 1 Cup...I'll take the Cup.
- jmatchett383

I am saying I would rather be just like the Flyers have been, then be like Edmonton and win 1 then completely suck.

Well, for me personally, I'll take the 1 Cup Victory. It would be hard (and they haven't sucked, they had a few nice runs including Game 7 of the SCF in 2006), but I'd take it.

I said the team did better without him (and they did) in response to the false claim that the rest of the team were the real problem. They added players, but they also got great performances out of the core who were there for the 2002 playoff debacle.
- Feanor

It's not a false claim, though.

Primeau scored 16 points in the 2004 playoffs, after 0 in 2002 and 2 in 2003. Was Primeau's utter inability to score before 2004 because of Roman Cechmanek?

Alexei Zhamnov wasn't on the team in 2002 or 2003, but he was the second leading scorer in 2004. That didn't make a big impact on the improved team success?

Primeau, Roenick, Gagne....they all underachieved mightily in 2002. It was primarily the inability of the team to generate any offense that spelled their doom. In 2003, the team performance was better, but not markedly so for Primeau, Gagne or other key players.

In 2004, buoyed by the new additions, and with better coaching, they made a run to the ECF before the injuries decimated the blueline. Even in the 2004 playoffs compared to 2003 & 2002, Esche's performance wasn't leaps and bounds better than Cechmanek's in the previous two seasons.

But the core the didn't produce in 2002 did a much better job in 2004, hence the team success.

Do you remember how bad the Phillies were during the Ed Wade era, and how bad the eagles were with Richy Ko-TIGHT and Ray Rhodes? Blackout games, empty stadiums, etc... The Eagles didn't win the Bowl but those years made it easier to be an Eagles fan, and the 08 Phillies made it easy to forget all those years of sucking...

My point is, you haven't had to go through one of those droughts with the Flyers. If you did, you might change your tune.

Is the choice a guaranteed Cup vs guaranteed no Cup? If that is the case, give me a Cup, too.

But if it's one guaranteed Cup vs potentially multiple Cups, I'd want the potential multiple Cups.

Well, yes, like the kids in those commercials say, more is better. But from where I sit, give me the years of hell for 1 Cup.

All I know is, that 2008 doesn't make 2012 or 2013 any better for me as a Phillies fan. All it did was make me forget the 1990's for a few years.

Yea that is exactly what I was trying to say.

I would rather no guarenteed cup and a chance to win multiple, then 1 cup and guarenteed 10 years of garbage.

And I'm just saying I'd prefer the guarantee.

The old "1 in the hand is worth 2 in the bush" idea.

I've never heard that and my (admittedly minimal) knowledge of human biology leads me to believe that the second part isn't true.

I'd agree. From what i understand, you need oxygen in your bloodstream to survive, and that wouldn't happen by just absorbing it through your skin.

I responded to a question with that answer at work once to a project manager.

It was not a well received response.

He's probably a Red Sonja fan.

Maybe he worships Set.

Yea, not possible. Terminal Velocity of a sky-diver is about 122 mph. If you could imagine riding a motocycle that fast, do you think you could get away without breathing? Or Water is made up of Hydrogen and Oxygen. Can you not breath under-water because your skin can absorb oxygen?

It'd be great if Stolarz can build off his good half year in the OHL.

It'd be awesome if we could vote for the March, 2012 Bryzgalov and ignore the rest of his tenure.

- Jsaquella

I hope Stolarz can win the London job first.
