I think it's more along the lines of 'it took until page 3?'.

Seriously, I thought his spidey senses would've picked up on this one way sooner.

Who would win these fights (for Cote/Carcillo, assume it was during the time they spent here):

Carcillo vs. Rinaldo

True. I'm shocked Shelley hasn't signed anywhere as of yet. Very surprising.

I'm sure there are a few men's league teams down at Skate Zone who could use an extra froward.

40:1 Cup odds for us? I wouldnt call us favorites or anything like that but I wouldnt have thought we were the same as Columbus, Carolina, Devils, Wild, Lightning and Jets. Let alone seeing the teams with better odds is somewhat mindboggling

40:1 seems reasonable considering the number of question marks the Flyers have.

In the same world where Montreal has 20:1 odds? End of the day it all doesnt mean much anyways

Agreed. I think that number will either drastically go up or down once the season starts.

Those odds are set so as to entice people to bet. I wouldn't read TOO much into it.

If it was thought they could get more action by listing them differently, those that take bets would do so.

Montreal won their division last year, and the Flyers missed the playoffs. That has a lot to do with it.

I'd throw a few shekels on the Flyers at 40:1.

I don't think they're gonna win the Cup, but stranger things have happened and I think their are extenuating circumstances with what happened last year.

They made the playoffs in a short season and promptly got smoked in the postseason. The got hot early, and slowly melted down as the season wore on.

I'm not arguing your reason, just that it's a mistake to think they'll maintain/improve their lot from last year.

Hey, a $100 bet at 40:1 gives you a fantastic little payday next summer if they do win.

They're 15:1, or were 15:1 to win the east. I'd toss a little cash at that, too

I wonder how many points it will take to make the playoffs in the East next year as one of the wild card teams.

Those are also pre-season odds. The trouble for the Flyers is, they still have question marks in goal, on defense and in terms of health. But this team reminds me a lot of the 2007-08 team headed into the season.

Well no one on this thread has ever been guilty of over estimating the Flyers chances.
