Cote wasn't very talented as a player. But he never hurt the team. He was responsible defensively, and constantly worked on the little things such as positioning on the ice. His work ethic was second to none. I had no problem with Riley Cote on the team.

Good point. I can recall a few times Odjick was trying to get someone to go while play went the other way. Time, Play, Score was not his mantra.

Another thing: Did Luke Richardson ever win a fight as a Flyer? Poor guy scrapped for his teammates but I think he went like 0-167.

He was Matt Carle before Matt Carle was Matt Carle?

It's the E at the end of the name, just like GM Bob Clarke, Carle, Cote, Delmore, Bathe, Froese, Briere, Sean Burke, Esche, Crowe, etc.

Cote has one of my most memorable fights on record. His two punch dismantling of Andre Roy which led to one of the most epic meltdowns on record.

No, it was 07/08. It was the Umberger/Lupul double hat trick night.
Carter fought Letang (and Umberger fought someone), Smith slashed Crosby's wrists which prompted he and Armstrong to fight the next game. Biron challenged Crosby to a fight, which prompted Laraque to submarine him. It was the game that really ignited the rivalry.

oh man that game was so good for my fantasy team

I can remember not liking Luke when he got here. He wasn't what I thought he was.

By the time he left, he did win me over. He seemed like a good "Team guy".

It was Gary Roberts. He was talking smack and backed down from Laraque, so Gary Roberts beat the living iced tea out of him. That was the 8-2, Crosby-takes-out Biron game.

A blog, and 50+ posts dedicated to Flyers enforcers, and not a single mention of Jody Shelley.

This means he performed his role to an ABSOLUTE T.

Commenting on Shelley in a Flyers enforcer blog isn't staying on topic?

He got beat up A LOT when he first came here, and caught a bunch of heat for it. Then, he was in a fight, and he just got this incredibly mean, angry look on his face (my dad and I both realized it) and basically went on a tear and became a very good fighter for the rest of his career here. Very good guy on and off the ice.

I think it's more along the lines of 'it took until page 3?'.
