Thread of the year so far is the Karash thread. I don't know what's worse, the blog, or all the Flyers fans trying to correct him! Either way it's entertaining! - MJL
I enjoyed feeding him...I especially like the Flyers fans that say they're not fans of the team anymore...adios. |

I was going to respond to some of it, then said why bother! That doesn't happen very often!

agreed
and he'd trade the Canes' roster for the Flyers' heartbeat
obviously some criticism is deserved for any GM, but i honestly get the impression that some of the more absurd Flyers hate over the years stems from people being angry (read: jealous) that they are always proactive and agressive in trades and the FA market. They just see the Flyers making bold moves and they hope they fail - in part because they're secretly frustrated that their teams dont go for it in similar fashion. - Crimsoninja
What nonsense and a waste of a read. You couldn't be more right. |

Every offseason there is always a team I'm following aside from just the Flyers. This season it's the Oilers. There is no reason why this team cannot be a playoff contender this coming season. They also have plenty of skill to spare to get better. In my opinion as long as they have Taylor Hall, Ryan Nugent Hopkins, Jordan Eberle, Justin Schultz and Nail Yakupov are a pretty solid core. I would keep Sam Gagner but they can forward to use him as bait for whatever they want. Ales Hemsky they should trade for a Power Toward, Goalie or a top dman. These guys look like they're gonna be fun to watch. |

Especially coming from a blogger of a team who has 3 players with bigger cap hits than anyone on our team. We hand out ridicules contracts? How's Semin working out for you? |

So, I understand that there's a new metric involved in rating General Managers.
Its called ADW: Apparent Dollars Wasted.
If a GM's ADW rating reaches a certain level, he becomes an albatross to the organ-eye-zation, and a disgrace to the sport and should be summarily fired AND executed (or is it executed and then fired?)
Anyway, Homer's ADW is off the charts, so therefore. . . . |

(frank) hockey needs to start soon.
These dog days of nursing school without some puck are horrific.
P.S. Another adventure in nutter's driving career. Driving to store this weekend, and a baby rabbit runs right into the path of my car. No time to stop. Feel a thud, as my rear wheel makes contact.
Turn back, see fur floating in the air, and blood on the road. |

Former NHLer and current KHL forward Nikolai Zherdev got in some trouble this week, after he reportedly partied a little too hard before a scheduled trip to Prague.
Zherdev, 28, recently signed with HC Lev Prague of the KHL.
According to BBC News in Russia, Zherdev celebrated his new contract by crashing his Bentley, causing a stir in the hotel where he had been staying, the Barvikha Luxury Village in Moscow, getting into a bar fight and losing his passport, which delayed his trip to the Czech Republic.
In addition, Zherdev is in the middle of a domestic dispute, as his wife is believed to be filing for divorce.
HC Lev Prague GM Rashid Khabibulin confirmed to SovSport.ru in Russia that the team will not take any disciplinary action against Zherdev.
Zherdev's agent Yuri Nikolaev declined to comment on the matter. |
