its unconfirmed and not even on the team1040 twitter so its just someone on twitter trying to stir poop up and I mean about the one that he has re-signed, not about gillis being confident that he will, that is legit... - annoyance_101
Cue @DarrenDreger the Canucks and Tanev are not close and the young defenceman is pissed about it. Hold out likely

Gillis tried to unload him to the Leafs for a conditional 7th and was turned down by Nonis repeatedly. |

I think you will start seeing a lot more local company deals (excluding the Nike/Reebok etc..). Someone who is buddy buddy with the owner could sign a player for a few million a year and they magically get a deal on their luxury box for the season. The owners will find a way to get around the cap, and the players and agents won't care as long as they are getting paid. - immature_male
This is insane. I'm not sure how much exactly an athlete would get in a deal with a local company, but I'm willing to bet it's in the 25k range...not "a few million". For that kind of money it would have to be a national campaign with a mega company...like Nike or Coke. |

Source? He's worth a frigging 7th, so I can't see Nonis turning that down. |

I agree, but with salary higher in year two making the qualifying offer higher for his next contract. |

Kesler's comparable is Bergeron, not Bolland. And they are comparable, but Bergeron is better.
Bolland is a great 3rd liner who can play 2nd line when necessary and some PP and PK. He put up great numbers in junior, but is not big enough in the NHL, so his game changed.
There will be no big blowup over Luongo. Stop speculating.
Two contradictory tweets on Tanev in this thread; which do we believe?

Thank goodness, someone with a brain commenting...
That last thing is very easy to answer, you believe the one that actually exists...the other one does not exist on the team1040 site which is where it was originally supposed to be, therefore its fake, non existent...gillis saying he's confident is the only one that exists on the matter... |

Will he have to fly to Esposito's place to convince him to come play you think? Nah...no GM would ever do something THAT pathetic.

How about announcing to the media that he's flying to a player's home country with a self proclaimed wheelbarrow of cash only to land and find out he (they) were signed. Now THAT's pathetic. |

Not to mention, the kessel debacle, sure he's good, but he will NEVER live up to that trade...and Burke will always be responsible for that |

Interesting...because both guys you mentioned took less than market value to sign in Toronto. We didn't need to coax them with 12 year contracts either.
Good luck with that by the way. |
