also with Luongo changing agents it is becoming more than obvious he wants less and less to do with staying in Vancouver. This situation continues to really boil under the surface for now....but the more people I talk to each passing day seem to feel the potential for a huge blowup in Vancouver grows day by day. This was a quote from Ek a couple days ago. What a (frank)in joke.
So when is this big blowout happening? Did they trade Edler yet to Montreal? Looks like Gillis is just collecting a bunch of core/supporting pieces hoping a couple pan out and most of them are Italian. Kind of comical considering the coach he hired. |

If they were comparable, Bolland would be a selke winner, or at the very least, selke candidate. I said as an INDIVIDUAL bolland has never won anything...and its true...he hasnt...i never said that you claimed he was better...i said that you said they are comparable...and they ARE NOT comparable Kesler is NOT a role player...he's a 2nd line centre...on the leafs he undoubtedly would be their #1...Bolland on the leafs? Bolland will be their #3 centre...and why? BECAUASE THEY ARENT COMPARABLE - annoyance_101[/quote
I was comparing what they have won.. so far Bolland is winning |

I think every good team needs a player like that...but would you trade Kesler for Bolland straight up due to Bollands 2 cup rings and all? - annoyance_101
We should trade everyone who hasn't won a cup or an Olympic/world junior gold medal for all those great 6/7 D and 12/13th F championship caliber players! |

Meh, he did play the hardest minutes for Chicago this year(tons of defensive zone starts, and against other top lines), but he also didn't exactly shut them down either since he had the worst puck possession numbers on the team as well so it's hard to call him a great or very good third liner, but I guess it's hard to call him bad either considering his usage. - Nucker101

Someone has to answer this question. I think kesler is a very good player I dont put him in the great category yet. I dont think Bolland is the right comparable to Kes because bolland hasnt done it in the regular season with any consistency.
What I will say about bolland is that in the playoffs he seems to be better than Kesler. The stats back that up easily. I know kes has been hurt in the playoffs the last 2 years but Bolland has been excellent in the playoffs at putting in the timely goal as well as being a very good shut down center. - Bluechip23
If that were true, then why are Keslers numbers in the playoffs better than Bollands? not by a lot but they are slightly better...if the entire conversation was about Kesler and Bollands straight up offensive numbers in the playoffs, i don't think anyone would have a leg to stand on if they tried to say otherwise...their offensive stats in the playoffs are actually comparable...offensive stats, defensive stats, and playing with more heart are completely different factors though... |

True, but I'd rather not trade multiple draft picks for Bolland and his contract(the cost would have been higher for the Canucks to acquire him from the Hawks given the rivalry). Would have much rather preferred to trade Hodgson for a young center in return in the first place, Gillis underestimated the importance of having good center depth at that point in time and now he's trying to make up for it by drafting Gaunce and Horvat(not saying that they're bad picks). |

Brandon Bollig >> Henrik/Daniel Sedin, Kesler, Edler, Hamhuis, Bieksa, Garrison, Burrows combined. - Nucker101
No.. but he is better looking. |

I wouldn't either and most hawks fans would agree too.. He's also injury machine.. but he's had great cup run success. |

When I compare the stats below. I would rather have Bollands production than kesler. Pts/G they are almost identical. Bolland scores at a greater clip per game than Kesler. He also has a better +/- than Kesler ( i know that stat is not the greatest).
Dont get me wrong but I think Kesler is the better player for sure. But I look at what they have done in the playoffs and they seem to be closer than people would like to believe on this site.
Bolland
Pts = 43
Games = 67
+/- = +9
Sh % = 13.5
Bolland has 3 PPG, 3 SHG, 3 GWG
Kesler
Pts = 38
Games = 57
+/- = -2
SH % = 7.7
Kesler has 6 PPG 2 GWG |

It was AV chasing Hodgson out of town...not Gillis, at that point what was Gillis supposed to do? waste an asset that AV was hell bent on not using properly? |

Re-read what I said, I said in the playoffs their offensive numbers are comparable...... if you would easily take bolland over kesler in the playoffs...well fine...but you'd be the only one...
and LOL @ +/-...maybe thats because the canucks are actually comfortable playing Kesler against a teams top line perhaps?
I'd love to see bollands +/- if he were against a teams top line every game...it would not be pretty |

Apples and oranges. Kesler never got to rack up points against the Canucks like Bolland did. |
