Hockey's a Team Game... I thought everyone played to win the Stanley cup.
Now you tell me everyone plays for individual trophy's...
Yeah your right..you haven't done anything till you've won a Selke or and individual trophy.
PUFF PUFF PASS!

We all know any player worth having would trade an individual trophy for his name on the cup. Individual awards are great for teams that need something to cheer for, trust me, I keep hoping for rookie of the year again and again, maybe in 2014.
Its a tricky thing posting in the canucks forum. Wording is very important. Your words get twisted, quotes out of context, suddenly a very apt comparison is skewed with unlike comparisons in a feeble attempt to de-validate any relevant point you have made. - gzatron
It's tricky when all you care about is pissing on the Canucks and their fans. When claims that Dave Bolland is a good comparable to Ryan Kesler are made and then have to be backed up and then having to resort to the fact that he has 2 cups as the reason why. Yes, then it is tricky. |

If someone said you can either of these guys same term same dough, I am probably on Kesler too but to say he and Bolland don't play a similar role is incorrect.
His skill level is higher for sure but Bolland has the greater heart factor. Bolland can move up to 2nd line or even 1st if needed. Kesler has been known to slide as low as the third depending on match ups etc. these guys play a similar game on the ice. - gzatron
Bullsh!t. Have you watched Kesler play when he's healthy? He absolutely plays with heart. If he was Canadian people would talk about how he plays with such constant determination and drive, that there's no quit, that he plays as hard as anyone at both ends of the rink. He has as much heart as Bolland, he's far superior defensively and he's far superior offensively. It is not a contest. |

I quite like Zach as a player. I went to school with him and he was always a good guy then. I've heard some stories since then that don't paint him in the greatest light... I know he had a problem with the Boston coaches and he never got a fair shot there (requested ice time/PP unit time and the coach responded by placing him on the 4th line for a week). I thought the change to Florida would have suited him well but it seems he kind of had the same results. Hopefully he can turn it on for the Canucks. Utica may be his last shot in North America. |

;Dead serious. If you are a second line center on an elite team you need to be able to make things happen.
when it comes to Kesler, Everytime he touches the puck its "Ryan time" he selfish and takes way too many stupid shots from fukking forty feet out .
Until he learns how to make the players around him better, Hes nothing more than a glorified third line centerman
Sorry, Im not convinced on Ryan Kesler. - vancity787

Guys...
On Chicago, Bolland was equal to Hansen
On Toronto, Bolland is equal to Stamkos of Crosby
Or at least in Leafs fans world. |

Provided Kesler actually learns to pass the puck I don't see him being anything better than a dave bolland type Awesome third line center with the occasional scoring touch. - vancity787

50 assists in 2009-10 say otherwise......and before you pop off about the Sedin's and the PP, he didn't join the Sedins on the PP until the following season..... |

@TEAM1040: Canucks sign forward Ronalds Kenins. 22-year-old had 17pts in 45 games with the Zurich Lions and has played for Latvia at three World Champs

You sure think you're pretty funny don't you? The guy arguing Bolland/Kesler is a Blackhawks fan. And while I agree there are a ton of delusional leafs fans out there, you're the last person who should talk about overvaluing players. |

Bolland is absolutely a great 3rd line player. - KB3Point0
Had some of the worst puck possession numbers on the entire Blackhawks team this year(including call ups, 4th liners, etc.). But Toronto seemed to do pretty well despite having some mediocre/bad possession numbers last season.. |

I think every good team needs a player like that...but would you trade Kesler for Bolland straight up due to Bollands 2 cup rings and all? |
|
|
|
Someone has to answer this question. I think kesler is a very good player I dont put him in the great category yet. I dont think Bolland is the right comparable to Kes because bolland hasnt done it in the regular season with any consistency.
What I will say about bolland is that in the playoffs he seems to be better than Kesler. The stats back that up easily. I know kes has been hurt in the playoffs the last 2 years but Bolland has been excellent in the playoffs at putting in the timely goal as well as being a very good shut down center. |

Meh, he did play the hardest minutes for Chicago this year(tons of defensive zone starts, and against other top lines), but he also didn't exactly shut them down either since he had the worst puck possession numbers on the team as well so it's hard to call him a great or very good third liner, but I guess it's hard to call him bad either considering his usage. |
