i wonder how much of it is a lack of confidence in the talent or just not ready to make the jump to the nhl (whereas bernier and schneider obviously are nhl ready)
- LetsGoIsles

Yeah. Something I've thought about myself too. They may not be ready yet or should I say Snow may not feel they are? Well, we are going to find out soon enough. I have no problem with Nabby during the regular season, I was actually impressed with him during that time. I don't like the idea of going into the playoffs with him though. There is a lot of time btn now and then so hopefully it can be addressed in or around the trade deadline if need be.

Who cares what Snow likes? I really like Clutterbuck! . All kidding aside I think referring to Clutterbuck as a "third liner" doesn't describe him accurately as a player(as Jethro said). He offers more than most third liners from what I've seen(honestly limited). Nino's value was not as high(I'm guessing)as I would feel it should be but I still feel this is a case of Isles fans undervaluing someone once they aren't Islanders anymore. Those trades worked out for the clubs that were making them. If the Isles offer was better for what their specific needs were whether it be cap related or otherwise they would've taken it. It's that simple. I know, just call me cpt obvious
- Cptmjl

Well, firstly I didn't refer to Clutterbuck being any liner in my previous post

But since you brought it up, in what way is he more than a third liner? I think folks expecting something like Lucic are going to be gravely disappointed. He's pretty much exactly what you'd want in a third liner...a checker that brings loads of energy and can put up about 25 points in a season. Making him out to be anything more might be over-valuing of a newly acquired Islander (Rolston was going to be JT's winger according to quite a few fans until we all actually saw him play. I won't even get into everything Boyes was going to be!)

I agree. He will score between 12-18 goals a season maybe 20? We are going to love the way he plays the game

Unless Cappy does something catastrophically dumb with the lines and lineup, I think we're going to love the way the entire bottom-six plays the game.

I was referring to Jethro hence the paranthesis(as Jethro said)... I know what Clutterbuck is. He's a checker for sure but he's the kind of guy that you don't want to be on the wrong side of said check. Led the league in hits right along with Martin. That to me is bringing more to the table than most third liners and is exactly the kind of player I covet. One thing i will never be guilty of is overvaluing someone . Usually the opposite with me. The other extreme. Also, let the records state I was not at all enamored when Boyes signed on with us. Never liked him as a player.

He's going to add a lot to our line up that we were missing. Take some of the pressure off Martin and maybe make up for the lack of a true physical presence on our blue line even though he's a foward it may compensate a bit and keep teams on their toes. He's also a pretty defensively responsible player.

Has EK responded to anyone about who we want as our official Blog Capitan? I thought i saw something way back that you had to fill out an application. Does every blogger get credentials? How is Dee allowed in the building is that through the team or is it part of EK's many connections?

This coup seems to be very slow moving. It would be nice to get a REAL blogger before the season starts. Just wondering what is going on.

Who cares? Let's just chill here and let it play out. The best way to send a message is to stay off her threads I'd think?

I love how you place the link for this board right in Dee's board. that's like going to Burger King and having McDonald's employees point you towards the nerest McDonald's. Its gold!

I don't know if I'm the only one who sees Clutterbuck as a third liner. People have been posting possible lineups for this season since Free Agency started and most people have placed Clutterbuck on the Isles' third line. Just an observation.

Does he even care as to the number of posts that are done to any given bloggers post? I would only think he would care if that blogger stopped posting

That's where he belongs but to me he's not an ordinary third liner his hit totals alone dictate that. Nino's value may not have been that high but saying he was traded for some third liner is a little misleading to me. His value is higher than that as you can see by his salary not overvaluing clutterbuck just think he's maybe not equal value as.compared to a former first rounder in Nino norwhether either of their value was depicted in that trade.

I am pretty surprised that Boyes hasn't signed yet. Not sure what his asking price is, but he had a decent season last year numbers wise.

I guess most teams aren't as stupid as I thought? They saw his other deficiences and like you eluded to maybe he's asking for too much? Factor in him getting those points with Jt and I'm guessing most teams are reluctant...
