Really nice job!

Thoroughly enjoyed the read.

I Especially enjoyed the photo of Trevor Gillies winding up from left field!

When do you ever see a hockey fighter winding up like that????

A bar fight maybe, but on the ice. Ya gotta his enthusiasm.

And if they do wind up like that. They usually fall flat on their face. I doubt thats the case with Trevor.

in my opinion ness is a place holder till the likes of Griff, Pelech Pokka get here...I don't see him as a nhl prospect

As we have seen in the past you can never have too many defensemen in the system. If (God Forbid) we lose 7 of them at the same time again to injury we would have some decent healthy scratches and guys like Ness to call up.

Great blog.. loved it. (Don't sleep on the kid From Strong Beach...Joey!!!)

Wonder when we're going to see the "Yashin spotted skating on Long Island" story this offseason with the accompanying speculation that the Isles are going to sign him...

No way he is very small, he is fast though has a nice shot but don't think he is big enough for defense

True but so are these other "D" men.

Aaron Ness 5' 10" 182 lbs

Thomas Hickey 5' 11" 190 lbs

Lubomir Visnovsky 5' 10" 197 lbs

Andrew MacDonald 6' 0" 185 lbs

How about Erik Karlsson 6' 0" 175 lbs Norris Trophy winner!

Erik Gustafsson 5' 10" 180 lbs

Tobias Enstrom 5' 10" 180 lbs

Not saying that Ness will ever amount to much of an NHL "D" man but if he doesnt. It wont just be because he lacks size.

Knowing Trevor, would we want it any other way?

You may remember that I'm a big Gillies fan. (maybe the only one)

Would love to have that photo for my Desktop Backround but I cant get it to enlarge enough. Oh well.

I liked him, but he became a liability to the team. He wasn't going to be treated fairly once he got a nasty reputation.

Second round pick.. he better be better then.. not very good.

He's put up some solid numbers in his first couple AHL seasons.. Ill admit he's not a guy who ever stood out to me while watching the Bridgeport games.. but he never was an obvious problem either. He seemed to have good positioning... what are the negatives you see in this package?

he is not good enough to produce in the nhl...everything is average...he can be a serviceable minor leaguer but I don't see much more than that. not every draft pick pans out....

I would love for the Isles to sign Gillies to a minor league deal and have him in Bridgeport and just call him up once in a while. I know we have Boulton and other guys who can handle themselves, but none of those guys has the 'stache. Besides, Gillies has other skills the others don't:
