That was a great moment. I didn't mind Carcillo, he just did a bunch of incredibly dumb things.
- PLindbergh31

The embellishments were going to worsen his rep, and unlike Rinaldo, there wasn't much obvious effort on Carcillo's part to forge a better rep with the refs.

We have all seen Rinaldo speak to refs to get clarification and make sure that they see what he was thinking, at least.

I agree it does happen, but I'm not clear on the rules regarding players on LTIR.

For Example, would the Flyers be able to trade Chris Pronger to a cap floor team and give them a 1st round pick to take the contract on. Kind of like Boston trading Thomas's contract to the Islanders.

- youarewrong

Sure it's legal, but what team is going to pay out the millions owed to Pronger for a first round pick?

coburn needs to get more physical ala skinner
- 2Real

I think last yr was a fluke, considering how bad the market for a solid d man is..id rather keep colburn and not make the same mistake we did with carle.

I just remember the OT goal vs NJ in 2010, and Tim Saunders screaming "Carcillo! Carcillo! Carcillo!!!"

That and all the funny gifs that OB18 posted with Carcillo's head 'shopped into weird situations

- Jsaquella

Why would a team trade for Mez when they could just pick up the phone and get any of Hainsey, Whitney or Gilbert to sign to a fraction of the contract/salary right now?
- Tomahawk

Because they think that Mezsaros is a better player then any of those other players. And the cost should be minimal to acquire Meszaros, with the situation being the way it is.

Yep. His behavior during the series with Boston sealed his fate. He embarrassed himself.

Not gonna lie, as a Devils fan seeing a Flyers bog with "Quick Hits on Larsson, Boucher" in the title confused me a bit

hahahahaahahah thats the exact same point im making but unfortunately you couldnt understand that. sorry i didnt expressly say it, figured you could read between the lines. ill be more direct next time.
- flyershockey

Absolutely, if what you specifically meant was that a team interested in Meszaros may have been waiting for medical clearance, you certainly should have said that, rather then going on about how infrequent trades involving injured players occur.

Because honestly, if you have a point, you shouldn't need somebody else to make it for you.

Again, thanks for the interest in my twitter activities.

if the Flyers go with Mcginn or another internal option they can eat $1.5 million on Mez and still be OK counting wellwood's hit. Not sure if I'd do it, but it may come to that.

It very well may. And in that case, they'll have to play Meszaros to increase his value. And to show he's healthy. The only issue there, is that it's going to potentially take away icetime from a player. Perhaps Gustafsson.

The biggest key for the Flyers is, through trade or waivers, is being under the cap at the end of camp. If they can manage to wait until after the first day of the season, they will get more LTIR relief for Pronger

This lays out what they have to do to get maximum help from Pronger and Wellwood's injury situations
