My brother's in Calgary. I could have gone as well if I didn't take a class this summer. Never been to it once. - Nucker101
Being a media member has been pretty cool. Got to see the rodeo up close, talk with real cowboys and go to an art auction. |

Pshhh, no way. Didn't you hear that Schneider sucks and was expendable due to how great Luongo is? |
|
|
|
Does it matter? They're stuck with Luongo for close to a decade. Goaltending depth would be huge if you werent either stuck with 1 guy or having to cap space over 5 million for a back up. - systemtool
You mean we get the privledge of having the world's 3rd best goalie for the next decade, behind 1) Bernier & 2) Reimer.(no jokes, those 2 r Great) |

Good point. They're all young so a decade is nothing in the big picture. |

Hahaha good god you can't be serious? The leafs 3rd goalie is better than your 2nd. I'm not going through the rest of the teams. That would literally take all day.
And if the Leafs goaltending situation is better than yours... Oh man you know you're in trouble. Flyers level trouble. |

The thing about the Luongo deal is my gut tells me with the new CBA rules, we won't ever see Lu retire.
What we'll see is him come down with an odd, weird injury that shortens his career by 3-to-4 years and he'll go on IR. |

That makes sense for Gillis but why would Lou want to do that? |

I think even you'd have to realize that if Loungo plays out his full contract he'll go down as the best goalie in nhl history. How many goalies that played in Toronto for 5-10+ seasons could you even say are in the top 10? |

Yeah, it's an "outrage" out here, until they take that first bite of their burger, and then all the humanitarianism (what do you call that only for animals, animaltarianism?) goes out of them. |

He still gets paid and by then he'll be done living in the fish bowl.
If he's bought out he doesn't get all the money, so why wouldn't he just sit off work with a "bad back" and collect a full paycheque? |

Luongo is amazing, and i think that trading schnieder was the best idea (although i feel they could have gotten slightly more than that 9th pick) if he gets his mind right, hes the best currently in the league IMO that is
but i disagree he will go down as the "best goalie in NHL history" thats just an exaggeration |

It's brutal it's people that don't know sweet F-All about my way of life. Any rodeo animal gets treated 100x better than beef cattle and such. Because not only are the cows, calves and horses athletes but they are a source of a pay cheque for these cowfolk. They are investments. As well these big city "activists" have never seen two bulls get in a fight and take out 20 acres of barb-wire fencing in the process...a couple spur kicks ain't gonna do nothin to the hide. The bull rope goes around the chest and haunches & the flank strap goes around the hips, so that ain't gonna hurt f.all. |

Am I the only one that thinks goalie prospects, however highly touted, are worth about as much as a fart in a balloon until they prove it in the NHL for at least a couple years? |

Well I think one could argue and win that Brodeur is, but beyond that....maybe Roy? |

I think you and Nonis would have to agree to disagree on this one considering how much he thinks 62 games of sheltered nhl starts is worth |

Not sure about The best, but one of the best no doubt. All he has to do, is play like that old guy in New Jersey |

Dude are you for real? Luongo's never won a Vezina, a Cup, or even led a major goaltending category once in his (frank)ing career. |

hasek, plante, sawchuck, roy. Luongo will be considered one of the greats, if he competes for the entirety of his career, i feel he was the clear choice as the starter and have always been confused why they wanted to move him so bad. |
