Philip Danault has what Jonathan Toews and Marcus Kruger have. A heart the size of the building and a desire to win and be great.
I think Danault's chances of making the team rest on how well he does on draws and killing penalties against NHL competition. If he can do either or both at an acceptable NHL level, he could make the hawks. - John Jaeckel
Roughly translated: plays BIG. Something that wins Champinships and was missing with Stalberg. This heart and soul approach could replace Frolik IMO |

If Danault can kill penalties and win draws, he would basically fill the Hawks biggest current need. That would be quite welcome. |

agreed... and frolik's GWG on the penalty shot vs DET in game 6 on the road was still bigger than any goal stalberg scored all year. - Sconnie
Agreed.......... and IMO the biggest goal of the entire year. That Penalty Shot goal
vaulted this team to the CUP !!. It was game 6 in Detroit and a 3-2 score. His finesse backhander squeezed the nuts of the Wings and gave the Hawks the swagger needed to take charge of remainder of that game and then game 7.
The team's confidence seem to sore after that goal.
Good Post.

Me neither, wild stuff for sure.
Damn, we were good in Oakville for power... you've always got a place with cable TV and high-speed internet up the road if that happens again. ESPECIALLY if it happens during a Hawks game! |

25 goals would be great great, but it just reminds me when 20 busted out with a 40 something goal season, then 50. But 80's hockey was such a diff game. - samtsakalis
If you're name isn't Stamkos or Ovechkin, I don't see you scoring 50 goals, and their totals are going to drop now that the Southleast has been disbanded and they have to play good teams every once in a while. Anything over 20 goals for Bickell while not allowing guys like Thornton and Kesler to take shots at Toews and Bicks will be worth the money IMO |

Like Teuvo Terravainen for 2C?? - flyerdude17
I think he plays wing in Finland, but does anyone know for sure? Awfully hard to make the transition back to center in the NHL. I prefer that centers be centers their whole career, its a hard position to play and takes a lot of instincts (defensively) |

Biggest goal of the year (I say only a little facetiously) was Hjalmarsson's no goal against Detroit.
For them to put that behind them and come out and still win in OT - I think that made the team more than anything else in the play-offs.
After that, they were 8 and 3 against the two (arguably) best teams in the league - like, ok, no matter what you throw at us, we're going to win. |

Hey JJ, thanks for the 411 on Danault. Is there anyone other than Danault you see potentially making the Hawks out of prospect camp based on what you've seen/heard thus far? |

Sure, send Teuvo Terravainen and Brookbank to Flyers for Couterier - ikeane
Hard to know what TT can turn into. Could be the next Kane. But couterier has already been an established NHL center with Size and an already solid 2-way game. Would be curious to see if he can produce offense with sharp and hossa. Hard to trade TT already, though. I also like bjugstad in florida. Dale loves TT |

Yea, worth the money of course, just thinking potential. Savard and larmer took the shots back in the 80's, but when secord came in with his unproved toughness and skill they all exploded. Just a thought. But secord surprised me coming from the bruins with his hands, kinda hoping bicks can somewhat do the same. |

I think if Detroit had gone on to win that game, that no-goal call may have replaced the Brett Hull foot-in-the-crease goal as the most controversial call in recent playoff hockey history. Even though we won the Cup, I still get a little angry thinking about it.

Personally I would take a Center with size and 2 way game in Couterier over an unknown in TT. TT could be the next Kane, or could be the second coming of Sergei Berezin/Sergei Krivokrasov. Who knows? I like what Bjugstad did at U of Minn, but how successful will he be, he is another unknown. |

Sure, but just because the Hawks prevailed in OT doesn't give the officiating crew a free pass on that call. How that can be construed as matching roughing minors is beyond me.
