The year he was drafted, he made it public that his goal was to make the big team out of camp that year. Of course he didn't and may not playing SOFT like he does.
Puzzling part is...he can throw down and is a decent fighter...but seems too nice on the ice for his own good.

I am gonna state here inequivocably that if you think you can evaluate the future careers of Mark McNeill or any guy there from these camps, you are goofy!
I am not McNeil's daddy, girlfriend or advocate, and in order he is the farthest thing from soft there. Have seen enough to know he is a load, afraid of NO ONE and will fight anyone.
The next point I want to take up is the one about his comments minutes after being taken in the media blitz... Answers, "yeah I think I have a shot to make the hawks..."
It's a kid speaking! You don't have to look far to see mike McCarron, the Habs pick say several stupid statement at the draft and continued to the entire week afterward...
