Prospect camp: don't believe we learn hardly anything new not covered in draftsite.com. The players are not in ideal shape but we can enjoy seeing the skill the scouts saw. The coaches can see more than us in on ice view in their drills as well as the scrimmages. They compare what they see and just update what they tell the players to work on.
It appears there may be both new forwards and dmen coming to Rockford, since all indications point to Bowman drafting well. I believe those who see a lot Icehog games do present an accurate assessment of player performance and how they may fit in one day in Chg.
Bowman has always wanted players to be prepared to perform well once they arrive for an NHL audition. But the prospects have to show they can take someone's job.
Maybe Pirri is up for a challenge and plays acceptable enough defense. Stanton might just be alright as a depth #7/his entire game is underrated as he has descent ability but he is still too slow. Danault appears to be the one, eh? Nordstrom playing at 160 pounds NHL is hard fathom he gets rocked. Both Morin and Smith have a good shot, particularly Morin is the shooter who can win a game for you on the shot. Yet Smith will venture to dangerous areas. The thing with both of them that makes me wonder about their role, however, is that Q featured speed throughout lineup last year and these two do not have jets at all. |

I did say that. Depending on how strong of a training camp Danault has. Even then, his chances of making the Hawks out of camp are sketchy, in my opinion. I'm kind of thinking that Bowman and Q might lean towards using guys who have been in Rockford, such as Morin, Hayes and Pirri before going with Danault.
As for McNeill, I haven't seen enough of him. What little I have seen hasn't really made an impression (good or bad) on me. I know Philco caught some WHL games last season, and was left unimpressed with his play physically. - EKolb13
Thanks! Thought that was what I saw.
Would agree with what you posted above and hope Danault at least starts the season in Rockford.
Hoping the other three play well enough to stick or be used in trade for players/picks.
Was at the Detroit game the Hawks won 7-1 and thought Morin looked ok. Would like to see a bit more this year. |

Really, if Danault is good enough to crack the Hawks, I'd be fine with him playing on the 4th line, as long as he's getting regular playing time.

Wouldn't mind that either I guess in light of what I've seen posted about Dent.
If Q is able to roll 4 lines like he did this past season Danault would probably get enough minutes and maybe more if he is able to help fill the PK role vacated by Fro.

Ideally all players should spend some time in the minors if for nothing else then learning how to be a pro both on and off the ice. Aside from learning defensive aspects of the game it may also prevent dumb tweets and blaming others for them. |

Think you're right EK....Rockford alum will probably get first crack at the 1 or 2 open roster spots. Not really sold on any of 'em to be honest.
As for McNeill...he's got the tools, but IMO (to this point) lacks the fire to go into the fire. That can all change if something inspires him to change. Time will tell. |

This could have been the scouting report on Bickell before these playoffs ... |

Very cool, but did you tell Bowman he sucks?
 - Hemingways
No I did not, because I have to admit...he doesn't.
Was nice to see the focus be on the kids for this event. Saw the Cup roll in with Q, StanBow, McD, Blunk, and from my vantage point, Bickell?? Not sure - could not see much over the crowd of patients and families that the event was really geared toward. Nice words from them all. They all look very tired. |

Agreed...though Bicks has shown flashes of what we saw in the playoffs. Maybe McNeill will if he gets 6-7 years to grow with the ORG.

I would think McNeill might draw a lot of interest if he was placed on the block if he is not going to fit in Chicago. Trouble is, isn't he projected to be a potential power forward? They take longer to develop. Hopefully it clicks with him sooner than later, or Stan offloads him if he only wants to play like Jimmy Hayes/Daze..perimeter players with size who shy away from contact |

So we can pencil him in for the 2020 squad? |

His posts are certainly good fodder.
I too enjoy the indignation he displays when someone calls out one of his posts or him a$$inine right before he fires back a verbal barrage of his own.

Is that a line from a movie? Either way good stuff! Maybe that could be one of Rusty's lines in Boulevard of Broken Dreams. Does the title need to be changed now that DB scored the Cup Clincher?
You going to the prospect camp? As interesting as that is can't wait for real camp to see who truly stands out among the prospects. |

From the Department of Timing, Oxford English Dictionary's definition of the day is as follows:
"@OED: 'Argh' has been a cry of fright since 1800, but, almost a thousand years earlier, was an adjective meaning cowardly." - QStache
This is a bit more current, and the first definition is, of course, what is meant:
1. ARGH
1. An exclaimation of annoyance, exasperation, or other negative factor.
2. The sound a made by a stereotypical pirate.
see Blah, Bleh.
a. ARGH! This is taking for-freaking EVER!
b. Arrrggghhh, Matey! Aye be sendin' ye down to Davey Jones' Locker, aye be!
More specically, as in, "Argh, now he's putting out Toews, Krueger and Frolik as the first line."
I will not post again unless I'm called the Unibomber again ... or Hitler, or Stalin, or Idi Amin ... I'm sure someone will post something similar and think he's really clever by adding, "you forgot this one." |

Guys the name calling, insults and ganging up on posters is going to stop, this thread will now be monitored closely, the amount of reports coming out of this thread has become a problem.
Let this be a warning to all of you. |

I'm curious to see what the Organ-I-zayshun does with Beach. I've posted this before...if Beach were in the Red Wings organization, you wouldn't hear boo about im until he was ready for the show.
ideally, he would be the right handed equivalent to Milan Lucic, but he still may become that. Eli is probably best to comment on this, but it appears that Beach's game has grown/matured every year in Rockford. He still has his schizo moments like that massive brawl he started w/the Teletubby guy |

If Beach could use his head and focus, he'd be talked about making the Hawks out of camp. |

Like most Hawk fans I was surprised he was qualified. Seems Bickell took the role he wasslated for when drafted...big PF for the wing of Toews-Kane |

The toughest thing to do in hockey is be physical game in and game out. McNeil can play a physical game, I have seen him. I have also seen him float around doing nothing. This kid is big, he skates well, he has some scoring ability, he can hit, he can fight and he thinks the game well. It's way too early about thinking McNeil won't fit in. |
