I guess people have different ideas on what the board should be and is. I come here to discuss, get insight and hopefully have some fun. - HawkintheD
It's been that way since I first showed up here in 2009. I've even made friends on here that I've met in public and try to attend games with on a semi-regular basis. |

JHawk, nice to see a rare, intelligent AND mature post here. I see they've already got their crayons out to prove you right.
This is beyond pathetic. I'm going to find a board that a few immature fools haven't turned into their private social club. Then they can keep posting pictures and agreeing with each other on everything. They must have scanned the Teen Beat stuff from the mags under their pillows. - Q...argh
And you wonder why people give you a hard time. You call out posters for immaturity and name calling yet you come out of the gate firing in kind.
You're familiar with the phrase about the pot calling the kettle black...well pot meet kettle.

Well I suggest you steer clear of those fo*ls Ogi and Unnamed Source. They will only drag you down into their little world of sadness. |

I just told my wife the other day how much I really dislike Bieber. I find him to be a douchy poser who got too rich too fast. Now I really hate him! |

Ogilthorpe and unnamed source.
Keep 'em coming. The rest of the board wants so much first to see your creativity before reading about hockey.
JJ is this what you want to see on your board?
Tell u what, ogi and unnamed source. How about your wife, girlfriend, kids, neighbors , pastor all join in. I am sure they view you as a pillar in the community. You are fo*ls. You are what you are. Sadly. Is it the golden rule or whatever, to love our enemies. But you aren't an enemy. You do not upset, you are just disgusting fo*ls.
Ok, go spend more time posting pictures while great majority laugh at you. Take a poll if you do not think so, you loos*r. - jhawk59
Oh the irony of calling people fools and then misspelling "loser."

From the Department of Timing, Oxford English Dictionary's definition of the day is as follows:
"@OED: 'Argh' has been a cry of fright since 1800, but, almost a thousand years earlier, was an adjective meaning cowardly."

I'm more curious about why fool needed to be spelled with an asterisk (fo*ls)? Is that one on the hit list and I'm just unaware? Guess that would make me a fo*l too. |

I suggested a cage match between you two several blogs ago.
This is exactly the kind of verbal sparring I was looking for leading up to it. Though I'm sure his shot back will include "immature fool" and something about rubber pants and a sandbox.
Still backing you btw! |

Ha. That's funny. I actually don't have a problem with Q...argh, I just disagree vehemently with his opinions and find them to be logically inconsistent. That and I get a good laugh every time he posts about maturity and then a few posts later calls someone an "asshat." Have I ever said how much irony entertains me? |

His posts are certainly good fodder.
I too enjoy the indignation he displays when someone calls out one of his posts or him a$$inine right before he fires back a verbal barrage of his own.
Irony is a wonderful thing. Sarcasm's good too! |

JJ-
I am thinking that Bollig offers more than Carcillo at this point. Since they are similar players, is there a chance that Carcillo is moved in the offseason or put on waivers first thing in the season to get rid of his $800k+ salary? If Danault makes the team, he carries a cap hit of $963,333 per capgeek. This leaves the Hawks about $1.5 to sign Kruger but leaves no wiggle room. If Carcillo was traded/ demoted, they would at least have Carcillo's salary to play with.
Based on currently signed players, and using StanBo's comments on Pirri, in addition to Ben Smith being on a one way contract this year, here is the 8:23AM July 10th Chicago Blackhawks roster:
FORWARDS
Bryan Bickell ($4.000m) / Jonathan Toews ($6.300m) / Patrick Kane ($6.300m)
Patrick Sharp ($5.900m) / Brandon Pirri ($0.870m) / Marian Hossa ($5.275m)
Brandon Saad ($0.894m) / Andrew Shaw ($0.578m) / Ben Smith ($0.563m)
Daniel Carcillo ($0.825m) / Michal Handzus ($1.000m) / Brandon Bollig ($0.575m)
DEFENSEMEN
Brent Seabrook ($5.800m) / Duncan Keith ($5.538m)
Niklas Hjalmarsson ($3.500m) / Johnny Oduya ($3.383m)
Nick Leddy ($2.700m) / Michal Rozsival ($2.200m)
Sheldon Brookbank ($1.250m) /
GOALTENDERS
Corey Crawford ($2.667m)
Nikolai Khabibulin ($2.000m)
------
CAPGEEK.COM TOTALS (follow @capgeek on Twitter)
(these totals are compiled with the bonus cushion)
SALARY CAP: $64,300,000; CAP PAYROLL: $62,117,628; BONUSES: $592,500
CAP SPACE (21-man roster): $2,774,872
Adding in Kruger at 1.5 and Danault at his 900k+ salary (dropping Carcillo and Bollig to extra skaters) leaves CAP SPACE (23-man roster): $311,538
But with Carcillo's salary gone it becomes: CAP SPACE (22-man roster): $1,136,538
Just early morning ramblings from Minnesota...

Hey Eli, I think you said Danault was a guy you'd look for outside of Pirri, Morin, Smith or Hayes to possibly make the team.
Not sure if it was you but did I see correctly that McNeil wasn't very physical. I though that was supposed to be his strength.
Incidentally, found this on the Wing board. Not sure that it's really news and echoes what JJ, Al and many others I believe have posted here.

I did say that. Depending on how strong of a training camp Danault has. Even then, his chances of making the Hawks out of camp are sketchy, in my opinion. I'm kind of thinking that Bowman and Q might lean towards using guys who have been in Rockford, such as Morin, Hayes and Pirri before going with Danault.
As for McNeill, I haven't seen enough of him. What little I have seen hasn't really made an impression (good or bad) on me. I know Philco caught some WHL games last season, and was left unimpressed with his play physically. |
