If you actually wanted to quell silly rumours you wouldn't post your daily "10 things off the top of an idiot's head". How about you get a clue. You can't post half the bullpoop you do and expect one inch of leeway for complaining. Look in the mirror ass clown.

Also no one gives a poop when you say players are untouchable. You don't know poop about the NHL, you aren't an Oilers insider and you certainly don't speak for the team.

I wouldn't want Vanek or Miller. We're not in a position where we'll be competing for the cup so there is no point in us taking on anyone that could walk at the end of the year.

They're going into full rebuild mode and could probably get some very nice young prospects and picks for them but it won't be from us. If I'm them I get rid of them now though and not make the mistake Calgary did of holding onto them too long.

I agree we are not in a point to compete for a cup but we are in a place to compete for a playoff spot. We were close last year and we had a terrible schedule and injuries to deal with. This year we have some fresh faces, Hall and Ebs just got back from the worlds with the experience playing with guys like Duchene and Stamkos, RNH will be a little late but he should be healthy, Yak found his confidence at the end of the year and most teams will give us their backup goalies to play against.

I don't care about the cup but at some point in time these kids need a win and that "win" can come from just competing in what will be most of their first playoffs. Now that is not worth trading for vanek but it is a good enough reason to sign Grab to a short term deal and maybe a fifth center.

Also Bryz and theodore are out there. They might sign for emery salary right now and allow us to move Labarbera to OKC. It is never a bad thing to have a back up that could technically start. Labarbera is a back up that we will have to start occasionally.

They signed Labarbera for 1m one way for him to backup Dubnyk. For better or for worse it looks like Dubnyk is the guy in Edmonton, at least this year. Good luck.

People jump on trade proposals and summarize their concluding thoughts with a get'er done, like it is entirely uncomplicated for a team to acquire or deal top assets. Brian Murray said it took a year for Anahiem and Ottawa to work out the details of the Bobby Ryan trade.

There is enough smoke to suggest that Winnipeg might deal Evander Kane at some point. He is worth more than what Ottawa paid for Ryan. But, Kane has been notionally available for awhile. So, do we see a deal for him sometime in the next 3 months? Maybe.

MacT came in and clearly let it be known that changes are coming. Some people got upset because there were no major deals in the first couple of weeks of the new regime. But they will come.

I believe one if the super kids will be dealt. But it will not be for a guy who is on the downside of his career (Vanek). For example, would you do Hall straight up for Pietrangelo? Most big deals are usually upsetting to fans on both side. St. Louis fans would hate the deal.

If your Winnipeg, would you do Kane straight up for Pietrangelo. It is so much easier to be objective and analytical when you don't have a dog in the fight.

Dubnyk had the tools to become a solid 2nd tier number one goalie. What I mean is that he'll never be elite/win a Vezina, But can definitely become someone like Jimmy Howard/Corey Crawford/Antii Neimi/etc and have success as long as the team in front of him is good. When all the number one picks start playing to their potential you guys will have a team capable of the same success as Chicago.

No

Halls actual overall trade value (based on ALL variables, age, stats, cap, value etc) is higher than Pietrangelo. (Halls contract, performance and length of term is exceptional value) Pietrangelo needs to be resigned, at a high market value, so his value will drop slightly till he does, and so long as the cap hit isn't totally insane. In total actual trade value, Yak would be the one, as he is in the second year of his entry level contract at a very cheap rate and locked up for 6 years till UFA.

RNH you would have to add slightly, Ebs you would have to add more to. Kane I would put in the middle of RNH/Ebs in term of value

I would rank Kane #1. I think he will be Canada's dominate power forward at Socchi playing with Crosby.

I would rank Pietrangelo #2 because there is a huge premium on top Dmen.

I would rank Hall #2b, he is a super talent.

If I am MacT I do a straight deal, Hall for Pietrangelo. I think it instantly makes the Oilers an elite playoff team with the potential to go very deep into the playoffs this year. If I am Winnipeg I am not sure I do Kane for Pietrangelo. Winnipeg has a solid D, they are missing pieces up front and Kane going would create a very large hole. Big loss for Edmonton if they traded Hall, but they have great replacement pieces.

Point is big trades are really, really hard. And, in good trades you usually have fans of both sides crying and saying they paid too much.

hemsky, gagner to the caps for alzner, 1st.

Great. Then we can start the season with only Gordon and Lander as centers...

Doubt StL would do it strictly on cap hit. That would put them over with stewart still to sign.

I personally think it is too much. Alex may be the best player in that whole deal but it creates a hole after filling a hole.

AP.JS
Petry.Ference
NS.Belov

this is good but,

Hall.Nuge.yak
??.Gag.??
??.Gordon.Jones
??????

the team is still trying to find a 2LW and now also needs to find a 2RW. Don't say Hemmer cause I think he is not an option there anymore.

Infact swap Ebs with Hemmer and add other stuff, like retaining 50% of Hemmer's salary.

It clears st Louis cap problem, gets rid of one of their 3 starting goalies, a superstar winger, a top 4 d man, top prospect and a first rounder. I think that deal would be ideal for both teams.

I would see J.Schultz and Belov switching.

You also have Mike Brown and Jesse Joensuu so you could see Paajarvi moving to the 2nd line with a 3rd line of Smyth-Gordon-Jones

4th line: Joensuu-Lander-Brown
