I do, they are my favourite western team lol, im just hard on them. - Djtyczy
I call bullpoop in this...your fave west team but you have never posted in Oil blogs here before... |

Takes two to tangle, and I'm not making that trade.
Foligno=Fan favourite
Ehrhoff= Read Travis Yost's article on how good he was last year
And tbh, the oliers don't really have a pressing need for the other three. - Sabresfan-365
that's my point. if i'm the sabres, i laugh and hang up the phone.
miller gives them a true #1. forget the stats. teams play differently if you're facing an all-star.
vanek would need to resign but is a 40 goal man and is still in his prime.
erhoff is an all-star.
folingo is the type of guy who wins you cups.
stafford needs a change of scenery.
hall is a potential OV type player but his recklessness is what makes him both so dangerous and risky. i'd take OV or Hall in a heartbeat but if i'm starting a team, i pick neither type of player. i pick a crosby or toews or bergeron or stamkos or giroux or richard park.
in short, he's not untradeable but there's zero chance mac t trades him.
we'll all need to judge mac t after he makes his first significant deal. as he's finding out, it's not as easy as it is for us armchair gms. |

It's tantamount to blowing up the team for Buffalo. For Edmonton, it represents significant change in moving out two of our better players from last year. Why would either team want to do that?
Also nearly 100% likely that neither Miller nor Vanek would re-sign in Edmonton.
The oilers should just acquire either Foligno or Stafford and be done with it. |

Hall's definitely toned down his recklessness. I doubt he'll miss over 12-15 games in a season again in the next 3 years.
EDM's got the giroux stamkos lites in RNH, Eberle, and Yak. But I'd take hall over all of em
n I do love the foligno brothers. I wonder who turns out better |

yeah perhaps.
My main point is that the Oilers have targeted needs. We don't need overhauls and culture changes like that.
Hall gives (frank)ing everything for a team with motivation problems. How is the locker room supposed to feel when he gets flipped? |

Good deal for us. Leaves us in a poopty situation for centre depth, which already sucks hard. But good value, certainly. |

Hall's got the most determination n tenacity on the team that's for sure. Apparently Boyd Gordon is crazy for his team winning. |

OK well Shultz isnt a prospect either. He's same age as Myers and played a full season - sbroads24

Nick Foligno may even be a realistic trade option. CBJ's got like 2.6M in cap space. Prospal's a UFA. May need a better backup. Wonder if a package of prospects n picks could get that done. |

So with Nuge out at the start of the season and Gags dealt we start the season with Boyd Gordon as our #1 center? |

nobody is untouchable. an oilers fan should know this better than anyone.
hall can be dealt just like everyone else.
hall and dubnyk for miller, vanek, erhoff, stafford, folingo.
yeah, you'd do the deal. - therealagent
And in a year we would have no goalie and Stafford would be our top LW? I doubt that very much. |

Not that it's a lowball, it's just not a move we're able to make at this juncture. If we took back johansson instead of the 1st it'd be a little better... |

Maybe Foligno by that point, but point taken. Vanek would be gone too. |

If you actually wanted to quell silly rumours you wouldn't post your daily "10 things off the top of an idiot's head". How about you get a clue. You can't post half the bullpoop you do and expect one inch of leeway for complaining. Look in the mirror ass clown.
Also no one gives a poop when you say players are untouchable. You don't know poop about the NHL, you aren't an Oilers insider and you certainly don't speak for the team. |

At this point I don't want us dealing for any picks, in fact I'd like if our own this year were dealt so we don't even care about the next draft. |

well would be conditioned on him signing but yeah .. about that.... if u don;t need any upgrades .. stick with the team u have now... if u wanna get better u are gunna have to pay... - derm10
Like a 9th for schneider?
Or a first, a promising but unproven roster player and a prospect for bobby ryan?
I think most of us here have always been willing to pay that kind of price. and still are. And thats generally the cost too. Not at all the nonsense packages u muppets spew.
Yakupov, a first and a second for vanek
Id wager those 2 are at least relative in goal totals next year and yaks has half the pay and 2 years left on his elc.

I don't know about that ,German. I think we have a much improved roster simply due to the maturation of the Fab 5, not to mention Dubey & Petry. Gordon is about evens with Horcoff (Maybe even a slight upgrade for the Oilers needs), Belov is fo sho an upgrade over Sh!tney (even if he sucks), and the other signings.trades are likely as good or better than Petrell ,Fistric and Belanger (how can they be any worse?).
My point in all this malarkey is that we should hang on to our picks, draft well and bring them in slowly,Detroit style, because we will much better, and much more attractive to next years crop of free agents.
But, if we can get the guy we need for our 1st next year and get him for a decent termed contract, it wouldn't hurt my feelings much. |
