need leadership too. ehrhoff is it in the backend. hell, every team needs at least one vet to show the youngguns how to do it on defense and offense. the defense has a lot of pieces, i'm sure if you figure out L/R shooting you can make 4 pairs somewhat easily.
our foward core obviously needs work:
Vanek? - Hodgson - {Stafford}
{Ennis}/Armia - Grigo - Foligno
Flynn - Leino - Ott
Scott - Porter - Kaleta
hell, we get rid of ennis, and stafford, we could bring in armia and another young guy. if we get rid of vanek (i'm 50/50 on whether we should do this) then we better get somebody young and good to replace him with.
ennis + mcnabb = bobby ryan, and i would have done it all day long, adding that 8th overall was bullpoop and i'm glad they didn't do that we don't need him that bad.
Vanek, Ennis, and Stafford are the question marks in this lineup to me and I could see ennis being traded before stafford to be honest. there's not a market for him and I see him fitting better as a deadline guy more, if not this year than next, hopefully he catches fire between now and then. - FIREonICE
I agree Bobbu Ryan is a good player,
But he only has two more years left on his contract
Do ubthink he would've re-signed here
I don't
Not when we are gonna stink the next two years
And no, I don't think we'd be significantly better to the point that Miller & Vanek would wanna stay either
So we'd be trading assets for nothing |

Glad to have traded him. Reason being his cap hit and that we need cap space. He wouldn't have gotten a lot of playing time here so it is better he is traded somewhere where he can play. Though he isn't much more than a bottom pairing guy. |

This might be the move to push out Meyers - When Darcy was saying to mentor of young defense - maybe he is called our first round pcik. I really don't get it either. I could have figured we could have invested 3M dollar else where. That would have added a forward like Raymond or Brunner IMO - Peca27
Its amess over at the fn arena. Really nice staue though. and the place to put your beer while peeing are the claims to fame |

Darcy has him valued as a mix of chara and Coffey. - hafgod
Which means his is useless then if that's how Darcy sees him right? He struggled bad last year. He needs to work on his footwork ASAP if he expects to make this team |

Just a thought?
Maybe Tallinder is back to help out Ristolainen (and other young D) and Myers is the trade bait? |

He is an uber talented kid with no work ethic and no mean streak. Listen he is on the top pair he needs not worry about making team. |

Just checked this out just in case people want to play around and make pairings. Some seem more obvious than others. |

This is darcy. Myers played good while Tallinder was here. Lets pick up Tallinder.
Who cares about the rebuild and playing those kids. We have Sulzer and Tallinder.
Funny Darcy said he wanted to get tougher do either of these guys hit at all |

why its darcy there is no plan. Thats why we are a mess. my tallinder jersey is back in sweet - hafgod
Like the last few drafts,
And most of the trades the last few years too
Only thing I really was against that he did was getting Leino... That was just dumb
Otherwise,
Darcy's done a pretty good job the last three years
I know, I know...
He's failed for 16yrs
That's a valid point, and I'm not disputing it
But lately, I like most of the moves
Especially this past draft
A+++ |

right, well obviously some are going to rochester and some will be developing elsewhere. Zadarov is very raw and is going to need time. Rudhwel is going to rochester and mcbain might even be there or our 7th guy. Pysyk was silkly smooth this year, I vote mcnabb gets traded since we get two scoops of jam this draft. |

IMO, he's looked very good during his NHL stints.
He's got great instincts and is probally the best open ice hitter in the organization right now.
When your objective as an organization includes "develop young players" and "get tougher on the backend"... Playing Tallinder over Mcnabb seems like a direct conflict with the "plan". - SuperCat
Not saying its a good idea to take Tallinder back but from what people have posted, NcNabb didn't play all that well last year and wasn't a definite to make the team before Tallinder was acquired. I thought he has looked good as well when up but it seemed he didn't improve at all last year in the A. |
