i thought he was his security hanket.. - SabresFaninIndiana
Whatever he is, it's sad he's back at all let alone to babysit a guy making over 5mill a year. Darcy at his best |

I think we should have gotten a pick and hank for riley.. just the fact that we took that horrendous contract for nothing is a lose on our end |

I truly wonder if its Darcy or if its TP in the background saying "Hank and Myers were a good pairing a few years ago. Bring him back."
I'd rather have Darcy be a tool than TP pulling the strings making personnel decisions.
IMO

Darcy is a tool, don't worry. Pegula hasn't a clue what's going on if he did, Darcy would have been gone 3 years ago. |

Tallinder is a bum and has no business being here after what the Sabres are trying to do, he is here to babysit a guy not a kid making 5.5 million dollars a year. Sad if you ask me. |

As is the case most of the time, I couldn't agree more with you 89.
It's sad when you have to do this for you "future captain". |

I wouldn't call it babysitting. I'd call it trying to get the best out of 2 defensemen that played really good together a few years ago. If nothing else maybe it will restore some of Myers'confidence. Something he's really lacked. Hanks 34. That's not ancient for a defencemen. Could work out better than u think. |

its a great move....
1. They dont need the cap space so nothing to lose salary wise
2. There is a chance he can mentor and improve the defence including Myers
3. If it does't work they can waive him.
4. Adds to competition on making the top 6
RHis is a win win situation....they got him for nothing and if it does not work out he can watch from the pressbox |

I'm not fretting. I am slightly concerned that management feels the best way to right the ship that his Tyler Myers game is to bring back a vet that he once played well with.
It's slightly disconcerning. It's not the end of the world cause i know Defensemen take londer to develope but it does make my confidence in Myers take a hit. |

I think we should have gotten a 3rd or 4th along with hank just for taking that contact back.. his contract is worse than staffords |

It's a great move to help Myers but, it's not a great move if you are rebuilding and the kids can't play. I thought the Sabres could have signed 1 maybe 2 guys on Friday but they didn't because they wanted the kids to play. It works both ways, if anything we should have added a player or two on Friday, not any of the "huge" names out there just a couple that could help on the wing or center. |

didn't say there was a risk I was just stating the contact is terrible and I think we should have gotten a pick for taking it.. |

I just don't see it as a big deal.. we have cap space... we brought in some vets on d... I just don't get pissed about things outside of my control. Who even knows if it is to help myers... it might juat be a familiar face that we know what to expect... people are just guessing and doing everything in fheir power to throw stones at a kid because of his salary... always has to be a scapegoat. |
