Either way. I've made it clear. Signing Jagr(which is not happening anyways) would be nothing but a display of mental masturbation by Pegs and Darcy. Evidence that they have no real intent on winning a cup, but just proving they can use their money and power to play NHL13 GM mode in real life. It would also be an insult to any Sabres fan with half a brain. - Buffalo--Sabres
Yeah, because signing a guy for half a season when you don't have anyone better and then trading him for assets to help the team would be a ridiculous idea. |

i'm okay with jagr being signed, i don't think it's likely, but why are people okay with signing jagr to a big deal but miller makes way too much and actually helps this team? |
|

in the last six years mancari has played 42 nhl games. Total of 3 goals!!! Holy offensive threat we've been missing! right under our nose
Jagr had 14 goals in 34 games. Last Year. - PearlStreet
Explain to me how signing Jagr vs. Playing an AHL scrub gets the Buffalo Sabres closer to winning the cup or committing to the "Youth movement". |

That's assuming he's healthy and there is still a market for Jagr. Quite the stretch. Remember, players come to Buffalo and die. How many had 3 or less goals here that we grabbed? Plenty. Those guys careers dammed near died. |

We could always sign Brad Boyes instead. I mean he was supposed to be the first sign that things were changing because they got him with a year left on his deal. - Pierceme69
Raymond still out there, Brunner too.Cleary, Mueller, Gagne.
Theres some decent guys out there. |

It's not a stretch at all. He's the 2010's version of Mark Recchi. Someone will trade for him at the deadline |

If you want the Staffords Vaneks and Millers of the team gone Jagr wouldn't be an insult to fans if you brought him here to mentor the young talent on this roster. Giroux said Jagr helped his career and so did Jamie Benn. Those two are going to be stars in this league. If they can say Jagr helped them improve their game why wouldn't we want someone like him helping our youth movement? |
|
|
|
I think IF we signed Jagr that it works for both sides. We sign him for one year and then add assets by trading him to a contender at the deadline. |

I would like Brunner. Someone proposed a FA line of Brunner, Grabovski, and Raymond earlier. I kind of like it actually. |

It sounds like a good line. I don't see Darcy signing 3 FA's. Lord knows we would take one right now |

If they were gone, then yes. At that point we would be so desperate for NHL experience. You cant literally field an AHL team and expect people to pay for that. But Jagr doesn't scream team player like Steve Ott for example. |

Nope. Look back at the 2-3 years prior to the lockout. Not saying Buffalo isn't a hockey market. Just saying they won't keep paying for garbage. Which can be good if its a catalyst for change. |

I've never been a fan of Jagr but if players like Giroux and Benn say he helped them greatly then I tend to think he must be trying to help out younger players at this point in his career. |
