AP will get signed for a little more than PK or he'll sit.

many good players as well for the 2014 draft

Mostly forwards That Fluery defender guy seems interesting. He's got the build of a good dman.

Then give him 3.7 a year, AP resigns for 7, and Allen for 1.3. Without trading anyone they can fit all of them on their roster.
- fecondo

It's easy to say "AP resigns for 7", but he wants more than that (and deserves it too). I had a STL fan tell me that if need be Pietrangelo will "Settle for 6+". Well he doesn't have to settle for anything less than he wants. Plenty of teams would love to have him and would gladly pay him the kind of money he wants. I think if STL keeps up with the hardball act, someone will sign Piets to an offer sheet and they'll either lose him or pay him more money then he even was asking for the begin with.

Keep looking

Aaron Ekblad - Barrie
Jack Glover - USNDT (Minnesota commit)
Roland McKeown - Kingston
Jacob Middleton - Ottawa

More might show but it's early.

NHL - Source - Flyers Meszaros expected to be medically cleared soon, at that point he can and will be traded.

- JAKEw1234

Yeah, pretty sure you can trade injured players if the other team is in the know. Unless he means teams would be more likely to take him once he's cleared..

Seriously. How much was Weber asking for last year from Nashville before we sent the offer sheet? These economy teams really mistreat their stars during negotiation time.

I've just been saying 7 for AP because that's what he is reportedly asking for. Stl could probably do8mm a yr if they wanted and still have cap space. I ddon't believe Armstrong is playing "hardball" with him, he's just trying to find a number where both AP and the team are comfortable

AP wants above 7, Armstrong wants below 7. They couldn't do 8m unless they shipped off some forwards.

I'm happy with the moves Homer made. Was really hoping for a major trade for a young future # 1 Dmen like Voynov or Shattenkirk but that would cost the Flyers the moon. We added Lecavalier, Emery and Streit without trading any of our young assets or valuable picks. That's a good job. Rumored that Gagne will be resigned to a 1-year contract I assume at around 2M. I'm wondering if that indicates Laughton is in the AHL for next season.

I really hope upper management took notice at our winning streak at the end of last season with mostly our AHL defensemen in the lineup. Lavy and management have to learn from last season's mistakes, as of the players themselves.

The scary thing is Laviolette said in a postseason interview he didn't change or adapt the system at all during that winning streak at the season's end. This coach should be in the hot seat early if we see the same defensive issues arise. I think this team can go real far with a good system, chemistry and with few injuries, etc

I liked that move and until Eric Lindros accidentally leveled him with a shoulder to the head, Coffey had been playing really well and was generating a lot of offense. Sadly, he was never really the same after that hit.
- BiggE

Who would be?

But really, he was never much on defense even before the head on with the 18 wheeler.

Before he got to the Flyers, his lack of play in his own end drove Bowman nuts prompting Scotty to move him from both the Pens and Detroit.

He won't burn a year of his ELC in the AHL. It's the big boys or bust again for Laughton, methinks

There have been plenty of players who went from an ELC right to 6+ and more, skipping their so-called contractual gap years. Taylor Hall went from his ELC to a 6 mil contract. Kane and Toews, 6.5 mil.

If Pietrangelo and his agent feel he's in their class, what's to stop him from requesting the same or more?

I haven't seen that anywhere, where Armstrong says he wants below 7. Regardless, my point is that no matter how much he signs for, they'll fit him under the cap. Whether its sending guys down to the ahl or trading halak they'll make it work

And embarrassingly he stole this from Sam Carchidi who legitimately tweeted that exact thing minutes before in response to a question from one of his followers. Sad that this guy took info from someone as clueless as Sam.

Wow. Look what tallinder, uh, garnered in a trade.

There is absolutely zero market for Mez.

I think the cap clearing trade will happen in the preseason before the flyers need to get compliant

That's the only way were not sending a pick along with Mez out the door in a cap dump.

also, with grossmans injury history and years remaining. There is no market for him

Hope and pray these guys get healthy and show they can play
