So everyone got the weekend off eh? We have a frenzy of trades and signings friday and then everything goes silent over the weekend. I am interested to know if we will be able to move Meszaros and I am hoping Gagne is a possibility. Outside of the Flyers, I wanna know whereas Jagr lands next. If Bryzgalov has any interest at all in him. I don't think Doug Murray or Brendan Morrow found homes yet. Will other players be bought out?
- dingo8urbaby

Can other players be bought out? I thought the buy out period ended.

What if STL matches the offersheet after we dump cap space for him, and Calgary finishes with a pick outside the top 7?

Genious is right.

Rich Smith ‏@ALLsportsINTEL 8m
NHL - Source - Flyers Meszaros expected to be medically cleared soon, at that point he can and will be traded.

- JAKEw1234

He can be traded while injured anyway.

I still think they trade Halak and unload J-Bo for picks and a cheaper player should Pietrangelo sign an offer-sheet.

I mean that would be like Homer not matching an offersheet on Giroux because he's got big money tied to Timonen for one year...

Would people really give up 4 1st rd picks for AP? Looking at the Flyers 1st rd picks it would be like trading:

G
L. Schenn(replaces JVR)
Couts
Laughton

That's just crazy talk even though those picks are spread out over 4 years therefor their impact would be down the road. Vikings destroyed their organization and created a dynasty in Dallas with trading their picks for Herschel Walker.

Ya but we haven't been nickel and diming Giroux. We paid him what he wanted and moved on, as we should. St. Louis has been fighting Pietrangelo over a few hundreds of thousands on his contract, which isn't how you treat your stars.

Paul Coffey, 1997-8, part II.

I liked that move and until Eric Lindros accidentally leveled him with a shoulder to the head, Coffey had been playing really well and was generating a lot of offense. Sadly, he was never really the same after that hit.

How does that guy do math? Even if Pietrangelo for some reason settled for $6.5, and Stewart for some crazy reason resigned for $2.5, they would still be over the cap.

- JAKEw1234

If they send down Cole, porter, and aucoin, and resign AP for 7 and Stewart for 2.9, they'd have about 100k in cap space. Not ideal, for them, but they can fit them.

I don't think they'll get Stewart for 2.9, he was their leading scorer last year and is a perennial 30 goal scoring power forward. He's their Wayne Simmonds.

Then give him 3.7 a year, AP resigns for 7, and Allen for 1.3. Without trading anyone they can fit all of them on their roster.
