What happened against the devils again? Oh yea we got bounced and he was suspended for the last game. The average team was the round before
- JoeRussomanno

Ok..Claude Giroux is overrated.
Stats don't show it but hey he got suspended for a game so that must mean he is overrated.
I don't think their is a single hockey expert anywhere going into those playoffs that didn't pick the Pens to win it. Im guessing the Flyers didn't line up for that first series and say "this is an average team, we don't have to try that hard"

In 3 to 4 years our blueline will consist of at least schenn, morin, hagg, ghost, maybe Gus.

This whole idea once Uncle Ed is gone hopefully the organization's aggressive "go for broke philosophy" is kind of absurd. Comcast owns 66% of the Flyers and spent big money for the TV contract for the NHL. There is no way they will own a team that will not make headlines.

Honestly, what they have been doing over the last two years is as conservative as they are going to be. Hopefully keep their high draft choices each year, identify a young core and use free agency somewhat wisely to augment that core. You can forget about them not going after top talent in free agency. This team will always use its financial leverage to its advantage against other teams who aren't as flush with money. It is just a reality.

What's wrong with Plekanec? Seemed like he is a pretty productive player in Montreal. I agree though would rather have Simmer and Max.

Would that be compliant with the new rules under the CBA?

Looks like it, just not sure if the 35% variance is year to year or the average of the aggregate of year over year.

It helps playing against fleury
- JoeRussomanno

i'm gonna take a guess and say you look at G as a more complete version of briere. like danny he has a concussion history and you're concerned that a guy his size will wear down and never play up to his contract. how close did i come?

Well, for one thing he's a center, which they have quite a few of. Secondly, he's talented, but plays soft at times. He doesn;t seem to fit what they're doing very well

If hagg reaches his potential he's a do-it-all, total package defender.

I was just being an idiot, still not making that deal on the count that he might turn into what the habs thought when they drafted him which could be a couple of years away for Wayne Train.

Although from the scouting reports while the frenchies offensive upside might be better, it sounds like Hagg is the more defensive sound of the two players.

Could see the Flyers do it, and then flip Plekanec. Only way it makes any sense, really.

I'd like to get Beaulieu. He's talented kid.

- Jsaquella

Seems Beaulieu had a very good year in the AHL. It looks like he may be ready for the jump. I'm assuming he is more of a mobile guy, who can really skate. I don't know much about him.

Hagg's all around game is more solid, but he's also more inconsistent. Beaulieu is a very good skater and talented offensive defenseman, who has shown more consistency to this point.

If I could get him and Moen for Talbot and Coburn right now, I'd probably agree to it. But the Simmonds/Plekanec part kiboshes it for me.
