A split knee cap would slow Michael Grabner. - Ben37
I'm pretty sure it would but Morrow has been slow his whole life pretty much. I'd take him back for less than $1M. Such a character guy. Most people won't like the idea but what the heck |

$$$ seems like the obvious reason. - HopintheCordoba
Really? I don't know what kind of money Cooke is asking for but I thought $1.5M would be enough.. |

Probably wants a little more. Plus you can only have so many mid 30s players tied up for 3-4 years. |

If he accepts a 2 year offer...
Matt Cooke isn't even in our team roster on the official site

I guess it was Cooke's agent that said that the Pens have no more money to spend |

oh...if it was...too bad...we just lost one of our best all around players. He's worth $2M/year in any other team. |

That would be him taking a discount to stay he could get probably 2.25 from someone, especially the way the average players in this market have been getting paid. |

I wa a huge morrow critic but if you can sign him cheaper than anyone else to be a 4th liner why not it makes sense business wise. |

Anyone have a problem with David Clarkson getting seven years - 5.3 million per?
One great year and regressed this last year? That is an overpayment. He benefitted greatly from a horrible free agent class. |

For sure. They'll regret it in a few years. |

I wonder how much these guys get in a good free agent season.

We all knew he was waiting for us...cheap and effective signing for our PK. I wish Adams was a little faster on his skates though. |

We have $676,667 left in cap space to sign Jeffrey and Bortuzzo. Looks like we are packing Niskanen (or even Glass out of town). #17 and #41 will probably amount up to $1.3M together. |

No one should have a problem with this signing. Adams has his detractors on this board, but he is what he is ... an effective fourth line guy and a solid penalty killer. Guys like him make more than 700K.

I think you have to get this in your head. Glass isn't going anywhere. No one will trade for him since he has little value and Pittsburgh ain't buying out a player making 1.1 million.

On paper, yes. However Ray benefitted by playing in front of a good defensive team. Let's see what transpires when his best defenseman are Coburn, Schenn and Streit.

"Got that in your head, Brooksie?"
I was thinking the waivers route. Bury the guy in the AHL if needed. |

Talking about defense, it's like apple and oranges comparing our group of guys with the Flyers.
Lecavalier and Streit will have to score 60 points each to make up for those signings. |
