Happy 4th of July, USA! Tomorrow, things with get "crazy" with the Flyers, according to Holmgren. As if it weren't already.

Eat, Drink and be Merry my friends, for tomorrow we cry

- Jsaquella

Every day that guy still has a job covering the Flyers makes me want to cry.

listening to kevin woodley on XM, one of the great motivating factors for a Thomas return is to be able to make the U.S. Olympic team in Sochi. he'd have to be playing very well to even be considered. this is a very highly motivated athlete that has overcome virtually every challenge thrown before him and woodley, considered one of the top goalie observers in the hockey press, has great faith in thomas' competitive fire.

Tim P reportedly was saying the flyers don't want to spend more than 1.5 mm on another goalie which is half of what thomas is seeking, but these could be negotiating ploys.

Quick is without question the starter. After him, it's pretty open I believe.

Yes..yes he would....maybe a deal for Kane and Bogo because even though he is RFA I still think there is a lot of uncapped potential in Bogo's game

I don't want Homer to trade Coots for Ryan. Coots has a good chance to become a better player than him. If we trade Coots, I want it to be for a young marquee player. Preferably a defenseman.

Immediately makes the team much worse defensively. Counting on Scott Laughton to be the shutdown center and Max Talbot to be the 4th line center is a recipe for disaster.

Evander Kane

Kane is the more dynamic player, but to have a guy who will contend for the Selke is invaluable. Look at the past Selke winners. Kesler, Datsyuk, Bergeron. All of those teams have had tremendous success lately. They just make their teams so much better. Even a guy like Mike Richards just makes his team better because of his two-way play.

bogo and kane would require quite a haul, i agree. prob have to include a high pick as well, because they are further along than coots and schenn.

I feel differently about Schenn than I do about Coots. I believe Schenn will be a good scoring top 6 forward. Those types of guys are easier to find than shutdown centers like Couturier.

If you talk to Jets fans they really like Bogo and think he is going to be very good. They've sat through his growing pains and would like to reap the benefits now. They would much rather trade Buff for cents on the dollar than Bogo for a big package of offensive players.

w/o question. bogo is ready to break thru...exactly what the flyers need to turn their fortunes back towards cup contention. if he really was available, bye, bye coots.

Timmy P foreshadowing with clever word play? Let's see...

Tim Thomas crazy in the head kind of crazy?
Dustin Byfuglien eating an entire aisle of donuts kind of crazy? (please no)

Now I get to be nervous for the next 24+ hours, bring on the beer!

I think the Jets may prefer B. Schenn to Couturier, actually.

Yea. He would definitely be someone I would include Coots in a deal for. He has tremendous upside. He has a big body, skates well and possesses some offensive skill.

I'm really curious what the Jets fan expect to get in return for Buff.

Really? I see Couturier as a better player than Schenn. Schenn may end up being a higher scorer though.

I would be sad if schenn was traded. I love his game.

I'd rather see coots go. He's too slow for lavy's system IMO.
