I do like Adam Hall. He is a sneaky vet, just ask James Riemer. With this said, the timing seems odd. For me it seems even less likely Laughton makes the team with a guy like Adam Hall around, which to me is a good thing. With this said though, it seems even more bleak that Simon Gagne will get re-signed. I hope I'm wrong.

NHL Source Flyers are going to make at least one trade. If they can't get Ryan or Kane Iginla becomes a very realistic option.

Possible the Flyers use Laughton in a deal to get a defenseman now that Hall signed?

He's also a winger

and has been the majority of his time here...

I really just hope they can get rid of Mez for a bag of peanuts (maybe someone gives up a 4th rounder) and go get a goalie who can battle with Mase and stay put. Of course this is the Flyers so im sure things will be way more "interesting" than my boring ideas.

Holmgren is itching to make a trade and do something big on the blueline. He knows a change is needed there.

to me, schenn would be the guy to move, but it has to be for a young plyr... preferably a dman. i'd rather keep him though.
- isaiah520

Also, B. Schenn has the higher cap hit, which at least for this offseason is gonna be pretty important. I just find unfathomable, they would move Coburn and hope Mez stays healthy and insert him in a role which he has never played for the team. I would not be shocked to see a deal get done with the Preds not involving Weber. I know it sounds ridiculous.

That is weird. But I'm thinking the flyers are thinking well hall brings about 90% of his game for a third of the price.

Hmmmmmm

- Just5

Yep, this could be a cap move. Laughton makes over 1M so Hall is a 400k savings and Laughton sits in waiting for another year or maybe he's traded.

1.7 M for a fourth liner, fill in third liner. Don't want to see him go but would make some cap sense. The fact Hall is a center means they have little faith in Laughton or Couturier could be traded. Right?

Trading Talbot is an awful idea. Great PK guy, has a Cup, loved in the locker room, basically a more skilled version of Lappy who fights less. Won't score a ton, but plays every shift like it's his last and squeezes everything he has out of the toothpaste tube. You need guys like him to win, and they're not a dime a dozen.

I would like to keep him, but if it's between Coots, Schenn and him going, i say ship him out. But obviously coots and schenn will command more.

Giroux can score a point per game for the next 5 years and folks will still complain about the deal.

#1 centers scoring a point per game don't grow on trees.

I honestly have no clue what direction Holmgren is going in. Flyers are all over the place.

Why the heck would the Flyers be looking to trade for another forward?

I'm not sure I would trade Laughton right now but I don't see why we would play him with Adam Hall on board.

I agree this is a terrible idea. However, I can't envision an offseason where the Flyers don't have to scrap the bottom of the UFA barrel to find an NHL defenseman. Trading Coburn and then having Kimmo retire and Mez leave via FA opens up spots next offseason. So yes, to keep with our lack of bona fide defensemen to start a season, makes sense to trade Coburn.

Could play him on the wing. Giroux played his first season as a RW.

Also, signing Adam Hall to a 1-year deal for (about) the league minimum should not impact a guy who, in a draft review of last year's draft, was considered the 13th best pick. It's Adam Hall for 1 year.

Am I wrong but hasn't he already played for the Phantoms? Like after his season in junior?
