Is the source of that rumor even a little reliable?

No idea.

I have a personal hatred toward twitter. Find it so stupid.

I'd find it weird that they would take him over a guy like Zadorov, as they seem to be similar players.

same guy had zadarov going 5th to carolina

That's...that's steep. I'd have to think about that one.

Truthfully...if you think Seth Jones is "that guy"...then maybe, yeah, I'd do that.

NYR will not be using their remaining compliance buyout this summer so Brad Richards will remain a Blueshirt.

I readily admit I don't know anything about these kids other from what I read. I know it's a deep draft, but anything outside of the top 10 isn't a sure thing. I'm not going to be critical of the draft pick. It's essentially a lottery ticket. Drafting isn't an exact science, but the lack of success drafting d-men certainly isn't just bad luck.
- PLindbergh31

I'm okay if they go with a forward.

However there are a number of d-men that generally seem to have their names repeated over and over again. Pulock, Zadorov, Ristolainen, Nurse and to a lesser degree Morrissey.

Why the hell they would pick another D over those guys would be kind of funny to me, considering their amazing track record with d-men.

The idea of trading NHL caliber players for a kid who hasnt played a single second of NHL caliber hocky makes me nervous. Yes, I know how highly rated some of these kids are and how skilled they are, but... Patrik Stefan, Alexandre Daigle, Pavl Brendl, Pat Falloon. I'm especially nervous when one of those players is Coutourier. I'm probably the only member of this site who isnt qualified to be a GM in the NHL, but... still... No. I dont make that deal.

Have you taken a look at this history of defensemen taken with a top-5 selection in the past 25-years? It's ugly -- really ugly.

The best available is always the best strategy. Taking a lesser player to address an area of need is not something I agree with.

Who are the Flyers getting back? Hall, Yakupov, or Eberle?

But that's no reason to not do it -- you can't be scared based on what's gone before. Every year is it's own, separate thing.

Chris Pronger, Scott Stevens and Scott Niedermayer were all top 5 picks. Drew Doughty. Alex Pietrangelo.

You can't be scared when you do this stuff. If the evaluation is what it is, you can't be scared.

That roster player better be a 20 minute a night defenseman.
