I don't think that's a legit twitter. Or at least I'm not seeing it. Unless this isn't twitter? And if it isn't twitter, it's not a true medium for journalism.

It was tweeted from people that had spoken with Dreger. Could ofc just be fake rumor.

Jokerit Helsinki joining the KHL after this upcoming season. Another step toward a pan-European footprint.

NHL has to be a bit concerned.

Mason on being ready to take starting job.

"I'm prepared to be the No. 1 guy," Mason said by phone from Toronto. "I feel I've come a long way in the last few years in the growing-up process of being a goaltender in the NHL."

"You almost hit rock bottom in terms of the way you feel about yourself as a goaltender," Mason said. "It got to the point in Columbus where I was struggling to find my confidence and also, struggling to come to the rink happy about playing hockey."

"I looked at coming to Philadelphia as a great new challenge," Mason said. "Regardless of the length of Bryz's contract, I was confident that if I played well, I was going to get an opportunity to play a lot of hockey games."

"I was going to prepare myself this summer," Mason said, "to have the mindset of being able to handle the pressures of playing in Philadelphia and the pressures of being a No. 1 goaltender again in this league."

I hear you. Teams can improve dramatically very quickly, I just believe there are too many holes to fill. There will be things done over the next 10 days out of desperation/panic that will end up blowing up in their face.

Says that Holmgren and Lava have both checked in with him over the summer.

Kind of get a vibe that they are going to give the kid the team's testicles and see what he does.

I'd still prefer a mentor for a few years (Luongo/Halak/Hiller), but we will see. Huge pressure, I'd probably poop myself.

Really steady defensive dman, maybe shutdown quality, projected to go late 1st-round, early 2nd. Right shot, American.

I'd find it weird that they would take him over a guy like Zadorov, as they seem to be similar players.

I readily admit I don't know anything about these kids other from what I read. I know it's a deep draft, but anything outside of the top 10 isn't a sure thing. I'm not going to be critical of the draft pick. It's essentially a lottery ticket. Drafting isn't an exact science, but the lack of success drafting d-men certainly isn't just bad luck.
