Carcillo must be way down on the depth chart . Q could have put him in the lineup last night instead of Smith or Stalberg - jhawk159
I didn't think Smitty looked all that bad last night. |

PLAIN & SIMPLE ELI, KOMPON BLOWS& UNTIL SB OR MR CUB T E L L Q TO LAUNCH HIM, NOTHING W I L L CHANGE!
even though we beat the kings, when Q brought this stiff on I bet Darryl Sutter was laughing his balls off saying "SUCKERS!" - wonthecup10
Was he laughing when we started the season with the most games without a loss, or when we eliminated his team from the playoffs?

Boston's Power Play in this years playoffs have 9 goals
Hawks Power Play in this years playoffs have 7 goals
Both are not great
Power Killing in this era is dominant across the board - PEIHawkFan
This post season, the Bruins have 2 more goals in 8 fewer attempts. Plus the only thing that matters right now is PP % in this series...Boston's winning that battle, and even when they're not scoring on the PP, they are much more of a threat to score than we ever are. Our PP is not only not scoring, it's shifting momentum to Boston. It's wholly unacceptable. |

Shooting high is selfish? HUH? - paulr
This like 8 hours later, but yes shooting high is selfish, especially when the Bruins push you to the outside. Shoot to pass, get pucks off the pads. Pass of pads is a fantastic way to score. Not really a new or complicated hockey concept |

I still think it because of the refs giving him no breaks. I really don't think he is that bad a player. But you are right in q's eyes he is down the chart. But hawks need a spark. Someone that hits. Most of the bruins are about his size and they all play physical. We need someone to match them - tomcat24
Carcillo? Maybe when the Hawks are down 3-1 in the series and absolutely desperate. The Hawks get them same play Carcillo can bring out of Shaw, and honestly, Shaw does a better job of it.
What the Hawks need, at least for starters, is to score a goddamn powerplay goal. If the Hawks could convert on a couple of powerplays, maybe Boston backs off on some of the physical play? |

Voyanov just signed for $4.1m cap hit for 6 years. Streit will be higher. A large salary would need to go to make that happen.
That V deal should set a ceiling for Leddy though.
Maybe get him for 6 year in the 3.5ms? - tredbrta
I don't know how anyone could watch the Kings Hawks series and say Voynov and Leddy deserve anywhere near the same compensation |

Effort or lack there of on that goal is something I can't get over, he just stood there frozen, and I can't get over it |

Spot on! Isn't this the reason the Hawks signed him in the first place? The Hawks need to be more physical and Carbomb can bring it. Now would be a good time to use him. Unless he is hurt he needs to be in there tomorrow night. Like Ben Smith but not now! |

A pp goal would definitely be huge. But I don't see boston laying off the rough stuff even if they do score. That is who they are. And all their hits are tiring out the hawks, especially the D. Shaw is better than Carcillo, but I think we need another person to hit |

All true
If everyone in Chicago new how to fix it they would
Just saying that any team that counts on the PP to win games is in for a disappointment
Power Killing with shot blocking...clogging the shooting lanes and goal tending has been perfected in this league
The games need and will be won 5 on 5
The stats bear this out
so get over it
When the Hawks win game 4 which contrary to this board I think they will
Everyone will be singing a different tune

Yeah I'm still not sure whose man that was but he Was right there. This team just doesn't seem to think or react fast enough. But, it also was a broken play that happened so quickly. It all started in boston's end, too. Bolland waits too long to pass it, they knock it off his stick and go the other way. Leddy I think just sent a weak clearing attempt that was easily read and held in. Bolland has his pocket picked and a quick setup to paille |

I think the key is not to give up the PP. You have to stay out of the box. 3 penalties for one guy is completely unacceptable.... People can throw the invisible word out all they want. Stupid penalties kill more than anything. Even if the other team doesn't score- it is a complete momentum killer. |

Putting in Carcillo will not happen
The team philosophy is not built around his style
Not right not wrong but it is too late to shift 67 games in
The team is what it is win or lose
You dance with who you brought
Debate the philosophy in the off season but the team is built on moving the puck quickly from our end to theirs and built on team speed and timely scoring
Win or lose it is what it is and the bangers will sit |

With no warm ups - coldsteelonice
Which proves, IMO, Q was full of sh!t when he says that what happened in the warmup had nothing to do with Hossa being out. If they knew there was a chance Hossa might be out (ie game time decision), then Smith would have warmed up just in case. |

Yeah teams get big lifts from huge hits. Plus it can wear down the juicer and seidenberg. They have had a pretty easy series. Mcquad, though, has taken some huge hits from shaw. |

Was wondering that myself. I also think that statement is false because Daryl Sutter is physically incapable of laughter. The expression he often wears could be characterized as if were a pickle sucking on a lemon (word it the other way and it could be misconstrued and general fodder for the board). |

Scoring on the power play will make the Bruins think twice about the hooking and holding and create more scoring opportunities five on five. Right now the bruins can defend on the edge of the rules and if the ref calls a penalty, no big deal. If the Hawks PP is actually scary, then five on five opens up too. |
