Meh Chigago is too good a team not to tie this series up,but as far as the lack of goals it isnt that much a surprise. When boston is on their game they can stuff any offense in the league,i expect it to go 7 games with most of the games continuing to be close |

I woke up excited to watch the game recorded on my DVR and accsessible from here in Spain (thsnks, Slingbox). What a waste of time. What an absolute embarrassing performance. I only hope Hossa returns and this team rebounds.
In the meantime, can we please dispense with blowing up the team and firing everyone (except Kompon, he needs to go away).

These lines paid off huge against LA, and Q just inexplicably stopped playing them to begin this series. Success slapped Q in the face, and Q responded with "Huh?" |

Said yesterday the only reasons to panic were crow being chased or a major injury.
Obviously there is something wrong with Hossa. This is a problem today as well as moving forward the next thousand years of his contract. To think otherwise is foolish.
Kane was actually pretty effective when he had space to carry the puck and generated some high quality scoring chances for himself or whatever bozo (saad twice) biffing it on the back side. Expecting him to fight through guys that are +30lbs bigger is pretty darn silly. It is physically impossible for a player of his stature to impose his will on the game like that unless he can get away from the double teams and getting pinned on the board. He isn't as developed as Datsyuk down low and the little Russian didn't go full bad ass until he was about 27. Some perspective please.
There better be some type of surgery announced for Toews after the series is over regardless of the result. He is not imposing his will like a player of his calibre and physical gifts should be. Is Tavares really that much better? This malaise starts at the top with the guy wearing the C. Trying hard is great for a player like Kruger but totally and completely inadequate for a man making 6.3 million dollars and heralded as the "best captain in the NHL". What a load of crap that looks like. 8/11 at the dot is unacceptable. Bergeron... A real leader... Was on the ice for 28. Special players rise to the occasion.
Toews looks like he has had to much of the "I'm Jonathan Toews" juice to drink. He should smirk arrogantly in one more interview.
Forget Stalberg. He is what everyone knows he is. Bolland should not be playing. At all if anyone.
Get puck deep. Establish cycle. Wear down slow defenders. Win game. They can beat this team the same way they beat Detroit if they execute properly. |

95+% certain, he's playing through something that will require offseason surgery. Maybe two things. - John Jaeckel
I'm guessing shoulder, which would explain the problem with shooting and face offs... |

So, who do you replace Q with? Need names of available coaches and why they'd do a better job. - John Jaeckel
Oh jeez I had this argument with him yesterday and I'm still waiting for the same answer(s) you are. |

Bickell has come nowhere near showing up this series - rollpards19
Put him on a first line with Toews and Kane and he just might. No guarantees, mind you, considering his history ... |

Who? Too early to tell, but I'll suggest Havi. Why? Can you seriously look at the lines he put out to start yesterday's game with and really require an answer to that question? i would put the same question to you regarding his stubborn insistence on sticking with the same power-play scheme that hasn't worked for three years. - Q...argh
How is it too early to tell? At least half the teams looking for new coaches have one. What has Haviland proven to you or anyone else that makes you sure he'll do a better job than Q? |

That's fine. If he's injured, then there's nothing he can do about it.
However, if he's unable to shoot or take face-offs, he should be removed for a position where he's expected to shoot or take face-offs. I don't know who you replace him with, but with the host of All Stars on that team (minus Hossa) there's gotta be a way to move people around. |

Let me put the question to YOU:
What do you see in Q's line juggling sideshow and three-year flop of a PP scheme he refuses to change that shows he is capable of coaching this team to a SC win?
If the FO doesn't change what's not working on the coaching level, then it's on THEM, along with their failure to pick up more grit and a 2C.
"Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain!" Q, the Great Oz, has been exposed for what he really is. Winning the Cup in 2010 with the most stacked team since the 80's Oilers is hardly indicative of coaching genius. Look how he's screwed up with an extremely deep team that is lacking only in a legit 2C and a true power forward. |

He's working with what he has as far as personnel. That's not his job to make trades and sign free agents. It's no secret the team has needed more size up front and another go-to faceoff guy which they haven't had since John Madden skipped town. As I said yesterday (and you say I can't read?), I put the power play partially on his shoulders whether its scheme or hiring Kompon. But a crappy PP is no reason to fire Q. It's by and large a personnel issue too. No quality net front presence and no PP QB. |

What has he done to merit the fact that he will do a better job than Q? What on his coaching resume tells you, "Let's fire Q because Mike Haviland will do a better job with this team." |

Obviously Q saw something, because Havi was widely seen as a threat to Q's job, and Q removed that threat the very minute he was handed firing authority. |

The 5 on three is where the game turned
Boston has three good lines especially the chemistry of their third line
They create chances,penalties and goals
And their own zone play and Faceoffs are killing us
If Hossa is concussed I suspect he may retire
Hope not I really like him
Being done 2-1 to the Bruins feels more hopeless than being down 3-1 to Detroit
Can't read all the doom and gloom on the board today
Taking a break until after game 4
Make all the lineup changes you want but if Toews and Kane don't get better it is all for not

No, actually he is MISUSING what he has as far as personnel. His line combinations and constant juggling are a joke, and when he finally DID hit on combinations that worked in the last 2 games of the WCF, he inexplicably abandoned them and reverted to his juggling act for the SCF. The man is quite simply irrational, IMO. |

John Jaeckel: The Better Team Is Winning - John Jaeckel
There is a lot to be worried and upset with last night but the PP will be the single biggest reason if we lose this series. It is not only pathetically inept but sucks any momentum we have completely up.
The only thing I want to know if/how Kompon could possibly be back next year? Last year the power play was poor, so we do have to add pieces to work with, but the lack of adjustments and the horrendous execution leading to a laughable product correlates to coaching. |

Would you care to explain, then, why he is correct in giving PP time to Bolland, Saad and Hammer while sitting Bickell during the PP??? |

Isn't that mostly Kompon's job? I know Q has the final say, but if Kompon's running the PP, he has to pick the specific players to teach it to. |

That's true. But if he's playing like a 3rd line center, maybe your 2nd line center becomes your new first line center, and your 3rd liner becomes your 2nd liner. |
