It's the wrong personnel and the scheme.
- John Jaeckel

Clearly...

Refuse to be upset, when it's been bad for years. Regardless of the coaching or personnel the Hawks have not been good on the PP.

Hopefully the issue is taken seriously this offseason...time will tell.

Oh, and Murray just mentioned that Bergeron was 23 of 26 at the dot tonight.

Luv ya Jonny, but I think we all know who shoulda won the Selke this year

Been a hockey fan too long to be bullshyted into believing they can pull out a win in this series. They are too far outclassed in almost every aspect to get a toehold and claw their way back. (As if they had grinders to do so).

Oops game (series) is over...

So they are now scoreless in their last 5 periods.

39 face off wins for bruins. 16 for hawks . Guess the men taught the boys a lesson.

Who cares about the fight. Just window dressing. If you want to get tough with Boston they'll flatten this team. The Hawks are done...this series has not even been competitive since game 1.

Say what you will about the loss, but if Toews, Kane and Sharp aren't you're best players you won't win.

When Shaw and Bickell have more of an impact than Toews and Kane something is seriously wrong.

Hopefully the boys bounce back on Wednesday. I'd be happy with a best of 3 with 2 games at home.

Full credit to Boston for playing a simple game. Hawks did nothing to take them out of it. Case in point. Look at the shot chart here. Notice how clean it looks in front of rask and every shot is from the circles. Boston was right on top of crow

Someone give Shaquille O'Neal some skates and a hockey stick, stick him in front of our net & let him cross check anyone who comes near Corey Crawford.

And judging by tonight's effort, do you see that happening on Wednesday? I didn't see anything tonight that gives me any hope for a better outcome in game 4. I'm not trying to be an ass, but what did you see tonight that you would say was a positive going into the next game.
- RetiredGoalie

nothing positive. not a damn thing. pp is gonna be the end all for this team. very disappointed in overall effort.

pen fan here. I find this brand of hockey that boston plays, yes I may be in a minority, to be so boring. Closing down the middle of the ice and playing the dump in game, while I know is legal, is the same brand that the devils played when they were winning cups. Big time yawn. It lulls you too sleep. While you think your boys aren't attacking its virtually impossible. Welcome to the pens world. You guys are too good to be stuck playing this crap. I'll take 5-4 games any day of the week. Good luck

Good finish...hopefully gives us a spark for Game 4....but an overall

PUTRID DISPLAY, especially on the pp

- philco28

Agreed...

Sure glad that Rozner nailed it, when he claimed Rask's comments after game 1 would damage the Bruins.

Stuff it Barry...

Marchand was holding on dear life. He wanted no real part of Shaw.

And the legend stals floating in watching bicks get mugged while laying on his back.

While it didn't look pretty it's still a 7 game series. Hopefully Hoss is back in the lineup Wed and maybe we can take one in Boston. I know the Bruins aren't the Wings but after what happened in that series, I won't count the Hawks out.

Wednesday is a new game - would not be surprised if a different Hawk team came out and won.

Boston is beatable: the aren't scoring, 7 goals in about 12 periods. Totally outplayed the Hawks the past two games, but only scored 4 times - a lot because of Crawford, some because Boston just can't seem to score.

Not adding up moral victories: pointing out that the are very beatable. ANY kind of PP and the hawks could be up 2-1 now.

The scheme needs certain components to be successful like a Campbell type QB.......without it is like trying to shop at Neiman Marcus on a walmart budget.
- UnnamedSource

Good coaching should adjust the scheme for the personnel that they do have. It's obvious that they miss a a true QB and net presence, but that doesn't get the coaches off the hook for rolling out the same crap every night without ever even trying something new. I can see personnel as an excuse for them not having an elite PP, the fact that it's not even average is on the coaches as much as anyone else.

The PP is one thing which could be (have been?) a great equalizer for the Hawks ... for three years running. It looks like a big part of their undoing as they're getting beaten 5-on-5 pretty handily.

Obviously beaten to death here, but it's a real momentum killer for them.

Negative. They won the 1st game. If they can win just one ice hockey game on Wednesday night, which is possible, it will be a new, 3 game series with home ice advantage.

Wednesday's game is a must win. But the time for post mortem hand-wringing and analysis is not yet.

Ok everyone. Deep breath......

Let's see what this team is made of Wednesday. Game 3 didn't give us much hope, but before anyone jumps ship we have to wait 1 more game, right?

Am I missing something or does coaching not dictate the scheme?
- Ogilthorpe2

All one has to do is look at the PP stats with this group since Q took over and was able to institute his scheme to see that his scheme does not work and the head coach has ensured his scheme is being followed -- evidenced by Leddy's drop pass again to Kane that nearly lead to a SH goal.

In addition, no Bickell on the PP (as Philco has been pointing out) -- well, we see the results. Simply pathetic.

Heard this tune before. You never know, can't give up on them totally because they're down 2-1 in the series.

I might have to just take a break reading this board until it's over because it's such a phucking downer.

Not that I don't think Hawks aren't in big trouble here, but things can turn around real quick in a series. I'm sure you've all watched enough to know that.
