I believe when asked by a reporter about the disallowed goal in game 3 against Detroit he said it "was a bad call" "never made contact with the goalie". Which both are true. Other than that I can't think of another time.

It's funny, that was my thought too. He spends a year in Toronto and goes back to Tampa for cheaper because you can't resign a player you've bought out. Still a crazy long shot though, it's a lot of moving parts.

Don't believe Vinik was forced to close his hedge fund. Public story was he want to spend more time on his sports and charity interests. Vinik has been a very positive influence for the Lightning and Tampa.

Will be interesting to see if this rumor has any legs.
