The GM award is very difficult to define...And I'm not defending any of the picks.

- Al

I know, not criticizing you. The awards process seems to make about as much sense as Shanahan's discipline.

The Hawks improved the most out of any team in the league with the only additions being a 6th and 7th defenseman and a rookie 2nd round draft pick. They also had a record breaking start and ran away with the President's trophy. Ottawa had some injuries and finished second in the weaker conference, but somehow Q doesn't win, makes sense

Good. Hold morons accountable. No matter what city, that's unacceptable. In fact, they should run ads on the scoreboard after fans are leaving the arena telling them they'll lose their belongings and go to prison if they're dumb enough to riot.

Man. I recall some rioting in Montreal about 15 years ago or so after a final. Chicago has been well behaved, even through the Bulls 6 finals. I believe there was some small contained nonsense in one area after the first one if I recall correctly.

Anyone who thinks rioting because your team won or lost needs to be checked by Andrew Shaw.

Most of your posts seem to be in defense of Q and calling everyone who has ever questioned him retarded. I think we figured out your opinion the first 300 times you posted that.
- Hemingways

...selective reading I see because most of my posts are not Q related. It's okay to question a move or criticize because even I've been hard on him at times and every fan has a right to do that. My beef is with the people who give him no credit at all....the "winning in spite of" crowd......and I will post it another 300 times if I have to....enjoy your reading.

Do you how much over time I made because of the Bulls "celebrations?" While not like the wanton destruction the King (both of them) riots caused, there was plenty of property damage, looting and injuries. Yet, since they were in areas of the city that most violent crimes and homicides occur, not too much notice.

Patrick Kane only missed out on winning by 3 first-place votes. What a "gentleman" he is.

A little too much snarl in his game!

Throw Ottawa a bone....like Mr. P said on Twitter...there's only ONE TROPHY Q is worried about winning.
- philco28

I agree, there's only 1 trophy that matters. Individuals awards are nice but they aren't a replacement for the big one.

Kane was tied with Frolik and ahead of Kruger in the Selke voting. That doesn't seem right.

And winning none of the little trophies will take away any of the joy of winning the big one!

You mean Jesus winning the Calder Memorial Trophy for being the ROY, right?

Kane got even one vote? That's scary. Ray Charles must watch the games AND vote.

Hats off to Tazer and the other winners. I think Q was very deserving, but as mentioned the Maclean got a lot out of that squad with the injuries and it seemed he's been a favorite all season. I certainly think Joel is more concerned with the bigger trophy. As far as Shero he put his team in a position to win and went out and made solid additions adding two Captains from other teams while giving up very little.

By what measure were they "solid"? Best record in the Conference prior to the trade. Barely got past the first round and got destroyed in the ECF. Adding a couple guys who were stars back in the day to a team of stars. The GM of the Year would have tried to add role players at the deadline, imo. It is also not all about TDL additions - he went into last off-season needing to add role players to a roster loaded with stars and didn't do it. I don't think he sucks or anything, but GM of the Year? Not in my book.

That heavy road sked would have KILLED most teams. Q navigated us beautifully through those rocky waters and what a ride it was.

- philco28

But I thought Q was a bum... and a fool? C'mon, that 2010 team would have won with a Chimp behind the bench!

I believe something along those lines is stated here at the Buzz on a regular basis.

Or am I imagining this?

Everyone gets hammered here on the Buzz. But my sense is that Q has fewer haters here than Stan, McCub and even Crow. This joint loves few but does acknowledge a record of success, which those other guys are hopefully in the process of adding.
