Flyer's whole cap situation is a joke.

exactly. People think the Pens are in trouble cap wise. Maybe those people should look at Philly, which has a worse cap problem.

Paul Holmgren is one of the biggest retards of a GM as there is, along with Sather, Feaster and the goof in Vancouver. I hope he goes a four-year deal with Streit.

I mean goofball extended a declining Timonen last year for 6 million. What a joke.

Maybe today you are correct. We'll see.

In two years, Pitt may be in worse shape.

If the Flyers sign Streit, there will be more moves. Too many D-men at over $4m per year.

I think the Pens could actually use a d-men that the Flyers have in excess (i.e. stay at home type that is physical).

Coburn + DaMan's blogging rights (equivalent of a first rounder) for Letang and a second rounder?

Well I can't wait to see Bylsma trying his best to get his team playing Pittsburgh Penguins hockey again

I just don't see this ending up well.... I do think Shero took the blame as far the deadline acquisitions go.... and he deserves some of it... but Bylsma has got to learn how to adapt in a game... its inferiorating

Well... as long as they get to their game...

You don't have any defensemen we would want. Your defense is terrible. You don't have enough to offer for Letang either. Your blogging rights are a negative in the deal. Coburn is worthless to me.

Pittsburgh won't be in worse shape in two years. Take a look at who really needs to be signed. Some of those guys will be 36 years old. That is a pass. It's not hard.

Morrow for Morrow... I dunno about that...I could understand because he thought that was probably the only forward he was gonna get but Morrow didn't look good all year... and lets face it in a Bylsma system, the guy wasn't gonna do well.

I was ok with the Iginla trade, asset wise but it was really just done in a rush decision. I blame Bylsma more in this instance for not finding a proper spot, ie. left wing and letting Sid just dictate what the lines are.

Murray and Jokinen were fine acquisitions

- nelson911

You gotta wonder if he would have got Morrow if he landed Iggy first?

The Morrow trade by itself wasn't bad, but when you add Iginla too, it didn't look as good.

Doesn't matter, that team has no problem buying out Briere and Bryz and then they somehow get to keep Pronger on LTIR for his entire contract when in reality he will never play again... They'll have 10 mil in cap space when its all said and done with Streit signed, but with no number 1 goalie.

Shero couldn't have done better at the deadline. A+
- ChrisMS

It didn't matter he got an A+ because the end result was a D. So, looking back - was your boy Iggy a great pick up? LOL

Aside from Streit, the bolded piece is something I can't comprehend. That is an easy buyout. Holmgren is dumber than anything if he doesn't use one of those buyouts on Pronger.

Interesting, we have 1 side of folks who want to throw Bylsma off a bridge because the he can't adjust his team if the initial plan doesn't work. While the other half think the penguins played good and are happy with the Penguins playing well 70% of the series against the Bruins.

Which side shall I join.

It will also be interesting to see how many empty seats start cropping up in arenas if it gets to $85 mil a year and even the cheapest seat in the rafters is $150/game

Half the teams are in the red already. If it goes that high a lot of teams will be hurting.

If he could some way trade Briere then I agree but if he can get away with the LTIR loophole why not use it all the way to the end of his contract. Bryz and Briere buyouts get his team under the cap, gets a full roster, and 10 mil for depth and a number one goalie.

The LTIR loophole needs to be addressed, at least in the later years. With these guys on the long contracts that go to like 39-40-41 years of age, you can't really expect most of them to play that long.

Pronger is going to turn 39 in October, and the Flyers get cap relief for the next 4 seasons.

The recapture penalty sounds great, but no one will ever have to pay it, because all the player/team has to do is say that he is too injured to keep playing and put them on LTIR.

Flyers defense may suck.

Each Pen D-man may be better than our best D-man

However, when you assigned no value to Da Man's blogging rights, well, we all realize you have no street cred.

The problem is that you are just seeing things in black and white extremes.

The truth lies somewhere in the middle, and unless you can guarantee that another coach will take this team further than the conference finals, I'm not sure firing him is the right move.

I would have liked to see a change, but it's not the end of the world for me that he's back.

Those weren't my opinions, they were what I was reading from people on here. I was pointing out the same thing you just said. People are always on the extreme. Whether one extreme or the other. It just doesn't seem like many here anymore have the ability to to see the negatives and positives of situations. Everyone is either "OMG FIRE BYLSMA" or "Pens suck trade/fire everyone".

Lol.. this board and fanbase in general is bi-polar...

In the middle of a winning streak - "We are unbeatable... Let's plan the parade"
A week later after dropping 2 games - "F%&K Bylsma... this team sucks... bunch of underacheivers... trade everyone"

So basically with keeping bylsma fleury is staying and the only question on the roster is going to be letang and now I think they will keep him so they will enter next season with a very similar roster so why should anyone expect anything different in the playoffs
