Ummm... We have Paul Martin.

Yes but you also have some pretty slow dudes that just dont match with what style of play Pittsburgh should be employing.Pittsburgh with the tallent they have up front, should not a slow dump and chase cycle team that grinds it out wins along the boards. But yet they seem to want their blueline built to support a team like that

Letang to edm for eberle and their 1st and 3rd

nisk for a 4th

MAF for a 1st (west coast team with a top 8 pick) prospect and player

glass wont get traded but should be odd man out

tk wont be resigned

iggy and murray resigns low for one more chance

morrow retires bc hes too slow

cooke and dupes resign

DB gets canned for tippet or tocchet...

despres and Bennett get top playing minutes

vokun and hartzell are new goalie tandem, unless they find someone in free agency

malkin get same deal as sid only 9 mil instead of 8.7... should get 7.1 lol

- nh4442

i'm not sure EDM would even trade ebs for letang straight up.

We pretty much lost the series on the PP. Score 3 or 4 on the PP and the series looks completely different. For Bylsma to not attempt one significant change is the ultimate sign of hubris. I don't know how you let the man return when he proves to be that stubborn.

Mark Madden is 100% correct when he says.... Disco believes he's always right. At all costs he has to be right. Once again his ego got in the way of the team. You don't keep that kind of coach.

Watching Hossa lift the cup again is going to hurt
- StabMastaArson

Bruins have a great chance to win.

EDIT: Jagr hoisting would have to hurt more than Hossa.

Bruins have a great chance to win.

I think they will. The team defense they are playing is just awessome.

I forget the story behind it, but if he's canned, I think you'll be hearing Disco a lot more...

I think all coaches have a shelf life. Dan could be a good coach for the right team. I think NY could be that team. He's a positive guy and the players love him. After letting Hitler...er I mean Torts go, I imagine the Rags would respond to him.

You throw these names out there but Vigneault is more stubborn with his systems and treatment of younger players than Bylsma.
- Gunner Staal

I couldn't agree more. Its not like Vigneault has been able to get it done either, and his teams have been very talented as well. If they fire Bylsma (which is a bigger if than many people seem to think) they need a coach that will let the star players do their thing, but that is respected enough that the players will actually listen to him.

I say that Shero and Lemieux coach Scotty Bowman out of retirement.

I don't understand when people say they want to trade malkin. He is just so good but i would understand if malkin wants to be the star of whatever team he would get traded to.

Also, why does everybody want letang traded? I understand that he hasn't been great defensively but he is a Norris trophy finalist.

As for Fleury, I think he has played his last game as a Penguin. I don't know how they can put him back in net after benching him after the Isles series and after he got some playing time in game 6.

- NYI44

The problem with Letang is that he is about to be due a contract that frankly will be out of proportion vs his actual worth considering the number of glaring turnovers he is prone to commit. That and the reality of the fact that someone is going to be a cap casualty, you can get great value for a guy like Letang, and that the Pens have some very talented defensemen coming up that can backfill Letang's skill set.

When is his contract up? I agree that he will ask for a crazy amount of money and with dipuis needing a contract and young defenseman coming up, I guess it would make sense to trade him.

With Cooke being a free agent, do you think they're gonna resign him. I find it interesting to talk to pens fans about Cooke because the rest of the league including myself hates him. I like to hear what you guys think since he's on your team. Do u want them to resign Cooke and dipuis?

I think the issue with Cooke is that he is going to want 3 years, I dont think the Penguins are comfortable with that.

My thoughts after the series, even though Rask played well. He was never amazing. Most of the saves were pretty routine, he was never tested that much. THe B's D was excellent and the Pens were out coached.

Not having Iginlas shot on the PP was a failure on DB, no other reason to dress him.

The Pens are basically a fun team to watch in the regular season, but not a tough playoff hockey team. Neal is a shot, thats it. Dupuis is no Lucic, Bennett had the games biggest hit. Considering his size was questionable, thats sad. I dont believe SHero has built a strong playoff hockey team. It looks good on paper having the big names, but results matter most. If this was a close fought game 7 loss Id feel different, but I think big changes are in order.

I thought Rask was amazing in game 1. I thought he stole that game. The Pens had the personnel to beat the B's, but I don't think they were always put into a position to succeed. I think Rask saw way too many shots with virtually no one to clean up any rebounds. This was a series that need players getting dirty goals, but they kept trying for the pretty ones. The PP was a disgrace.....the series was lost there.

I don't know but throwing random names out for the sake of doing so doesnt really make for interesting debate. Canning Bylsma for a guy who is more Bylsma than Bylsma isn't the answer here.

I could go either way with Bylsma. There are reasons to keep him, and reasons to explore a different route.

Dave Tippett is an interesting potential candidate. Defense and goaltending would be given a big boost. Seems like a less abrasive Therrien.

- Gunner Staal

Dave Tippett made that mediocre coyotes team look like contenders last year. Now he would be given the most dynamic offense to work with. Oh yea, he actually coaches too

I wonder if anything changes if there wasn't such a long break between series? The Bruins had time to heal their defensemen, but beyond that, it slowed the Pens down. Goal scoring is so much about confidence, and after the last two Senators games, the Pens forwards were definitely in a groove. They pot a couple goals in game one and the series just feels different.

Oh well, winning a Cup is hard, and plenty of great teams have.come up short.

At that level with 4 guys that have scored 40 goals in a yr, future hall of famers, having time off is just a lame excuse for failure. Thats what they get paid the big bucks for.
