a second liner and a top four d for a future franchise player is not an overpayment
sure there is risk the kid doesnt pan out.. but his value right now is furture franchise player
therefore any trade involving that pick will be treated as if you are trading for a franchise player
and no offense.. kesler and edler does not get you there.
thats why trades like this are a gamble.. you trade for a kid's ceiling.. even tho there is no sure thing the kid reaches it. - Dozzer
That second liner, would be a top line player on the Leafs, not to mention the Olympic US team. |

i never once said he didnt have value
what i am saying is he doesnt have the value you guys think he has.
he is not worth a future franchise player even with edler included. please dont take this as me saying he isnt worth anything. thats not what i am trying to say. - Dozzer
You are right, he isn't worth a future franchise player, but only one person has to believe he's the piece they absolutely need to consummate a deal. The Canucks won't give him up for a bag of pucks either ya know. |

Oh god please dont start this again. We got this with luongo. The islanders and leafs both made the playoffs without them. - walshyleafsfan
Hypothetically speaking, the maple leafs with Kes, instead of Grabo, could be a far superior team.
Notice the use of the word could. |

never said they should..
he has value.. i never once denied that.
please understand that i am not ridiculing the value of kesler.. i am ridiculing the over-value of top 5 picks.
not saying kesler + for a top 5 pick wouldnt be fair... it probably would be... but.. with the value that is currently placed on top 5 picks.. its not enough |

As I said. Kesler the player has plenty of value. His cap hit has negative value. And cap space to the canucks has huge value. All together means the canucks are going to be giving up far far more player value to make a deal happen. |

This is how I see things shaping up.
Luongo to Florida for Upshall(buyout) and Bjugstad
Ballard for Dipietro (buyout) Nino and 15th overall.
Trading the 15th and 24th to Carolina for the 5th overall - Boinker

I have never seen a team over value their players as much as the Nucks. I remember arguing on here with majority of Nuck fans, about how JT is a better player than Cody Hidgson. They argued he was the better player with less ice team. A few months later he was traded |

That's hilarious if true. Every team has fans that do that. The thing is is that other fans undervalue Canucks players and have a hate on for them. So it's only natural to dig their feet it. |

If it's the Canucks trading up for a top 4 pick then I'm guessing Kesler has a high chance of being involved, or potentially Schneider but that would be shocking. I'm not sure if Edler + first would be enough as the main parts of a package. - Nucker101
No, it certainly would not be enough. |

I don't platy the trade guessing game sorry, but I do know that Kesler would play on the top line and top PP on many teams in this league.
Oh and my point is that YOU'RE WRONG. |
|
|
|
He's still one of the best defensive forwards in the league. GM's value defense as much as they value offence. I don't think his value is as low as some people would think. A team like NYI, or maybe even TOR would be lining up for his services, because it would ensure playoff contention for them. - Gullzy
there are no playoff guarantees and both those teams did make it to the playoff too with out him.
He's a very good defensive players but lately those injuries are taking a told on him.
|
|
|
|
incorrect. sorry.. but it is.
with the current landscape of the league.. future unproven franchise players are topped only by current franchise players
its stupid as hell i know.. but its the truth - Dozzer
and they'll cost less for a longer period of time. |

Oh come on, stop including garbage in your proposal - Booth - yeah like Florida wants him back.
If you think the #2 pick is going to Van for anything less than Kesler, Edler & a 1st rounder, I think you're dillusional - newmy
So you are saying, a top 2 D - already seasoned, plus a former Selke and 40 and 30 man for a #1 Dr---------- sorry number 2 draft pick?
Unless that draft pick poops gold and name rhymes with restzky..... I think your plan is flawed. |

Domino's tests drone pizza delivery

Domino's U.K. released a concept video of the "DomiCopter" delivering two pizzas. In perhaps the first bit of "technological research" to involve flying pepperoni, Domino's has developed a drone capable of delivering pizzas.

Kes could be trade bait,
Edler certainly is
But not both together, they have limited assets that other teams want. They need to hold something back, This team is not 1 trade away from being back, |

Really wHere does it say the Canucks have to trade BOTH of the Sedins ....if Gillies is smart he will trade the one that plays at center (Henrik I believe). - Alexzanki
Yeh that would make sense to trade one of them. After all they have done for this city and the Canucks there is no way they would do that to them. |

This has got me thinking. On what teams would Kes be the #1 guy?
Edmonton
Calgary
Toronto
Montreal
Winnipeg
Florida
New York Islander
Rangers
Devils
Could a case be made for other teams? |

I'm a big Edler fan, Kesler not as much because I don't like the way he presents himself, he's still a great player though. |
