With all of the D prospects we have and dupuis and Kunitz not getting any younger, McKinnon would be ideal
- drummer829

To me you just take the best available regardless of need and to me jones is the best player in this draft.

Why would Florida consider that? No way Letang would resign in Florida. You could have a nice nucleus in Florida with Huberdeau, MacKinnon or Jones, Markstrom, Gulbransson, Shore and others.

I wonder if there is a deal between Colorado and Carolina to be had at the draft. Colorado sends the first overall pick to Carolina for Skinner and the 5th overall pick. Carolina drafts the thing it needs the most, Jones.

Why wouldn't he resign there you just said they have a good young nucleus they made the playoffs last season and were designated by injuries this year. I'm not sure if you have ever been to Miami but it is a fun place to be as well

I went to grad school in Miami, so I don't need the lecture. I would assume Letang would want to sign with an organization that is relevant. It would take Florida a while. Unless, Tallon rids himself of Campbell, I have a rough time believing he would spend 14 million on two blueliners.

would fleury and letang get more in a trade than staal??

I would think fleury would get a 1st and prospect and letang get a 1st, prospect and a player or a 3rd rd pick..

what u guys think?

Both. I guess that's what happens when the Pens knock your team out of the playoffs the last three times they've met.

Considering your team got smoked by this same Pens squad in 5 games, what does that say about the Sens karma?

Colorado needs D. If they don't take Jones, then something is wrong with their management. They could also trade stastny for a decent piece as well

Malkin and Cooke were our best players. Throw in Martin he was very good.

GREAT article about Alain Vigneault as coach. Guy seems like he's better than Bylsma, but isn't perfect. still looking at the various candidates open, but based on this article, I wouldn't be mad if we hired AV.

based on everything, my list would be:

1. Dave Tippet
2. Alain Vigneault
3. Dallas Eakins
4. Lindy Ruff
5. Torts

Now, I personally think Rick Tocchet is exactly what this team needs, but he has shown no interest of coaching. Billy G would make a very good assistant coach.

I don't think we need to go full on defense first. I can't say I'm up on all these guys, but I believe Tippet is a hard core defense first coach....maybe I'm wrong. Torts is a lunatic....hell no.

I would love Tocchet. I thought I heard he just moved to Pittsburgh too. Anybody know anything about Cunnyworth.

Wow. 50% have said zero to the poll question? The Pens should have won on Wednesday and were a few posts away from winning/competing in Game 1. This team is too good to get swept, even in Boston by Boston. I think we win tonight, get an early lead in Game 5 but ultimately blow it. Bylsma gets canned, Fleury and Niskanen get traded, Letang stays, Morrow walks, Iggy, Cooke, and Dupuis all sign.

That's all I have in the fortune telling department. However, before the game on Wednesday my brothers and I went to a Chinese restaurant for dinner. My fortune cookie said, "Never confuse a single defeat with a final defeat." Seemed like a bad omen. During the game there was a motivational NBCSports commercial that used the same quote. I was like, "Okay, universe! I get it! The Pens are done, but they'll win again someday."

Enjoy the game tonight fellas. I will try to catch what I can, but I will be at my wedding rehearsal/dinner, catered by the best BBQ joint in Kansas City.

Have you seen their management? They have a GM with no power (Sherman), a figure head with zero management/personnel experience (Sakic), and rookie egocentric coach who is going to play GM on the side (Roy). Anything is possible.

I'd consider trading Letang to them for E.Johnson/J.Mitchell. Wouldn't be all that bad.
