gutsy effort by the pens. defense clogged the middle (25 blocked shots) and vokoun really answered. the entire series should have been like this.

Hopefully the next 4 games are.

Ha. I voted 2. Too late now to retract my vote.

Last night was a coin flip of a game.

Really thought the Pens would win when they went on the PP early in the 2nd overtime. Pens 0-for-12 on PP against Bruins.

The momentum Boston has gotten from those kills has been a killer. Neither team has a PP goal in the series.

It is all your team's fault this is happening. Couldnt have just finished Boston off and done the rest of us a favor.

I can't see Fleury going anywhere. Unless it was a trade for another goalie like Miller or Halak or something. Maybe Markstrom in Florida? Pens don;t really have another option. Vokoun has played great and I can;t stand people describing him as a journeyman... if he wasn't stuck on awful Florida teams for years he would be considered a HOF goalie. Besides that though, he showed his age last year on Washington during a full 82 game season. We can't trust him to stand up for a whole season. An then what about after next year? I think Fleury stays. In Shero I trust and I'm sure he will do something damn awesome to try to right this ship.

We did just sign the kid from Quinnipiac that backstopped them to the national title.

EDIT: Also, figuring Shero's prior history of dealing with some teams more than others I would look to Anaheim as a potential partner if something were to happen. They have a backlog at G with Fasth, Hiller and the Pittsburgh kid Gibson who did well in net for the US team at the world championships.

Me too. The way they played last night made me think we can battle against those guys if we get at least one bounce each game. I won't cry if we lose...

Tough series for him.
You ready to move on from him?
Guy has elite offensive talent, but does look lost on D at times against a very good forechecking Bruins team.

Is MAF going to be bought out?

- Marc D

Letang seems like he can get knocked off his game pretty easily. But when he's on, he's a hell of a defenseman.

I don't know if MAF will stay. He seems like he's up on this pedestal due solely to his 07/08 and 08/09 play. Maybe his defense hasn't been great, but at some point, the goalie has to stop playing poorly. I don't think he'll get bought out though, as his name carries enough weight to get a good return.

That would have required trying something different. An adjustment so to speak...

Good options...my order:

1)Miller, 2)Halak, 3)Hiller, 4)Bernier....give me one of them and I'll be happy.

This is where benching Despres and Bennett for the whole season screwed Bylsma over. Now it seems like he's too afraid to play them, especially how Niskanen is playing. Can we still use those tryout contracts and play Maatta, Harrington, and Pouliot? Scratch Letang, Niskanen, and Engelland.

2010-2011 Fleury almost carried the Penguins to the #1 seed on his back. that was the year that Crosby and Malkin did not play the 2nd half of the year and Staal was out 1st half of the year.

Give us a coach who is half as defensively conscious as Hitchcock and fleury will be better. I'd say change the coach before the goalie

One thing is for sure: if Letang goes, we need a D back. A very good one.

The reason Fleury was benched is because he stopped saving the obvious shots. No coach can fix that.

Which is weird. MAF is a damn good regular season goalie. But for the last 4 years, once the playoffs come around, his head goes on an early vacation and brings his glove hand with it.

I doubt Anahiem would want to take another goalie back... that would mean us trading Fleury to someone and then trading for someone. They wouldn't part with Gibson and Hillier has health issues and Fasth has had only one good, short season. As much as an undrafted college star would be great if he worked out, I'm not overly comfortable with that myself
