Well my entire belief system has just been thrown right out the window. Thanks, Glen.

Is that my real name? Or is it something else? Seriously, I don't know. I get confused.

Over the past few days I think I've entered a whole new level of disgruntled and not because the Rangers got bounced, people just like Garth seem to be an epidemic, I wish nothing but the worst, not in life but sports wise, may all of their favorites flounder for the rest of their miserable hateful lives

Not familiar at all with Brossiant. Who is he?
- gkmkiller

Oil Kings Starter. Left off team Canada this year, if he's on the team they medal. He's a goalie, he's gonna be good.

Edit: Sorry his last name is actually Brossoit. But he's gonna be a good goalie.

Look at Detroit's power play, nothing too fancy. Abdelkader or Franzen stand right on top of the crease moving with Crawford to get into his line of sight and everyone just fires away. The Rangers can't do this?

As for the never ending saga of John Torts...I still think there is a chance that he gets shown the door. Because, I would think that Sather would want him to hire someone to work on our power play, and work with some of our kids, like a Chris Kreider, or a Carl Hagelin, on adding some new facets to their game. Now, can anyone not see Torts think on that for a moment, and then say there was no friggin way he was doing that, and perhaps force Sather to can him?

I ain't saying that will definitely happen, but I sure as heck could see it.

If Torts stays, he HAS to change the way he looks at things, if only just a bit. This is not the same team that went to the conference finals, and he can not try to force them to be that kind of team. No, he has to open it up a bit more, and let these players play the kind of game that fits their styles better.

1. No, his style is "good enough" to get into the playoffs, but its not good enough to win a cup.
2. Yes, Richards is a goner.
3. An extension wont happen until Hank sees some serious improvement, Im sure numbers will be thrown around, but it wont happen until things change.
4. I think Nash will be a point per game player for us in the regular season, but until we get more guys who pose a threat to defenses, Nash will constantly be swarmed by defenses in the playoffs because hes the only major threat to score out there.
5. Skinner + Murphy for Staal
6. I think you might see the last of Kreider as a 4th liner, he will either succeed as a 1st or 2nd line player or he will be traded. I think he has all the skill in the world to be a 1st line player as long as the shackles are taken off his ankles.
7. I think Stepan could be a #1 center, but I think hes best suited as a #2 center. 5 years, $20 million.
8. 8 years, $36 million.
9. If they bring back Clowe, no more than 3 years, and no more than $3.5 million per year. I need more information about the concussion he suffered.
10. Bridge contract, no they cannot succeed with Hagelin on the second line. The second line needs a scorer to go with Callahan and Brassard.
11. Bye, bye.. Del Zotto.
12. 3 years, $6.5 million.
13. Yes, I mentioned it in the other blog... if we can get a substantial return for Girardi, I think we gotta go for it while his value is where it is.
14. Miller absolutely can fill the 3rd line center spot, I think he can be a #2 with some time.
15. Either get rid of Boyle or put him on the 4th line. I would like to keep his faceoff abilities, but I simply dont think hes good enough to be playing even strength as much as he does. Hes too soft, has a weak lower body, has no stick skills and sucks at passing/taking a pass.
16. Id like to see Powe back, I think he was a solid PK player for us and provided a nice amount of jam for us on the 4th line.
17. I think Brassard might be a little bit of fools gold, I think he will be a decent player, but I dont think hes going to hit 60 points.
18. Depends on how much movement we have this offseason. Id like to see Fast.
19. Penner, Babchuk, Bogosian (through trade), Boyes, Stalberg
20. Del Zotto absolutely.
21. Sather stepping down is long over due.

Lets see...

We want to move Del Zotto because he sucks...
Looking to trade Girardi to try to maximize the return while hes at his peak...
Its inevitable that Staal might leave for the Canes...

Talk about stripping our defense down naked.

I like your post but I think you and others might be overvaluing Staal a little bit. Seems to be snake bit and Carolina has to assume he wants to play with his brothers. Not like hurricanes going to challenge for a cup anytime soon so they can afford to wait.

I think Staal's injury hurts his value. Its not easy playing without your full field of vision, and to get maximum value the rangers would have to wait for him to prove that he's past it.

This is Sather were talking about...

He managed to trade Gomez for McDonagh...

Now youre giving Sather an top shutdown Dman to trade, I think he will get back in the swing of things.

That trade wasva hone run and there has been a few others. But all the fa signings hiring Bryan Trottier he doesn't have my blind faith.
Intresting to see if my boy Torts get contract extension. If I remember correctly the last time he got a undeserved extension was because Sather didn't want a lane duck coach.

Hes not getting an extension...

Ill even say this, if the Rangers are below .500 and arent in a playoff position by December, Tortorella will be fired.

Not to discredit Sather for that trade, but trades that are that lopsided are also the result of an idiot on the otherside. I was just pointing out that it will probably hurt his value, at least if you are trying to trade him before the season. Could another lopsided trade happen? Sure, but I wouldn't count on it.

I think the trade happens, if it does, between January and the deadline. If the Rangers are in a cup position, then it will most likely happen next off-season.

11. Del Zotto is not even a top six defenseman in the NHL, and looks as if we have seen his full potential. He doesn't score much, doesn't carry the puck well, gets caught up ice a lot, is constantly out of position in the defensive zone, and can't seem to play much defense either. There's no there there. If someone will take him for a fifth rounder, Sather had better jump at it. You can get a lot more for $2.5 million. Douglas Murray and P. K. Subban have similar cap hits. I'd rather keep Eminger for $1 million than keep Del Zotto for $2.5 million.

Del Zotto is 22 and one year ago had 41 points and plus 20, he has value. He'll have another 40+ point season next year. No doubt he didn't have a good year and even worse playoffs but what Ranger did.
