If they can land another first, in the mid 20's, I have zero issue with taking Fucale
- Jsaquella

For some reason I'm not sure he lasts that long. I could see Buffalo (16), Columbus (19), or Calgary (22) taking him.

I'd still try to get deals done now, rather than wait. At least now, you can negotiate off up and down years for both and possibly save a few bucks. They're not going to take a discount, but if they have breakout seasons, it will cost more to re-sign them.
- Jsaquella

Just always seems like they pay their players when it's in the players best interest. Whether it be a good year, a good month, etc.

Not really. They re-signed Voracek and he went out and had an even better season. Richards signed in the middle of his breakout year.

The issue with the Flyers is, they try to get the first year or two of UFA cleared, so they avoid a guy jumping from a $2mm hit to a $6mm hit

Possible, but I wouldn't take a goalie at 11, with all the other prospects

Yea but voracek played on his new contract this year right? Ran out of time on him.

Yeah, this was the first year of his new deal. But the locked up both Carter and JvR prior to hitting RFA status, which is really their goal, to avoid the possibility of offer sheets and to get their guys locked up long term.

I wouldn't either that was sarcasm. Those teams have multiple picks and can afford themselves that luxury of that selection

It's a long wait but I think I have a group I'd be happy with if they took one at #11.

What I find mind boggling is that you think he shouldn't be in the NHL based on some irrelevant comments he made in an interview, in which he expressed his opinion. He did not commit a crime, or break any laws.

sorry bro...but realistically...who in the right mind will want to have Bryz as their goalie? just think about it........who?

The 30 career shutouts and 2.55 GAA and .913 save % are why he's still employed in the NHL.
- Jsaquella

sorry jsaq..but i was a big bryz guy before, but i just want him out of phily now....

and if he was getting paid 3 mil a year on a 3 year contract, i would probably be saying the same thing

I said a week or so ago that I'd buy him out this summer. Doesn't mean he's not still a good goalie. Just means that I no longer see a fit.

I wanted Laviolette fired, too. Still think he's a good coach.

I can't do it! I just can't route for teams that have just won. I like to see the cup passed around. Here is a really interesting podcast about the subject:

Umm, the Flyers would apparently. As has Anaheim and Phoenix in the past.

I cant see him making it past anyone later than Calgary at 22. They'll likely draft their (projected)franchise forward expected to replace Iggy @ 6 and aim for their Kipper replacement with Fucale at 22.

Buffalo could certainly take him too even sooner @ 19 as well.

Based on his mediocre and inconsistent play.

Based on his unprofessionalism.

Based on his unpredictable attitude.

If (hopefully when) the Flyers buy him out, don't be shocked if he goes to the KHL afterwards.

I'm not suggesting they take him or try to land another 1st rounder to do it. I'd be happy with a Tristan Jarry (Edmonton) in round 2 or a Spencer Martin (Mississauga) in round 3. But again for like Stolarz neither will be right around the corner to being NHL ready or even something that is a sure thing.

But if say Oliver Bjorkstrand is still available at #41 I may go in this direction.

I think your first reason is a legitimate reason. What information do you have that Bryzgalov has been unprofessional? How is his attitude unpredictable?

That has zero to do with your comment that no NHL team in their right mind would want him. As A Free Agent, he can play where he wants to play.

Maybe. If they want security. 4 million dollars to play hockey that's guaranteed right now.
