Toronto hasn't had a number 1 defensemen in a long time. Dion comes in very hyped, accept of course in Calgary, where they watched his game get worse each year post lockout as the new rules exposed his foot speed and positional issues. He comes to a horrid team with no good d men and of course is elevated. If he got moved to say, the Kings, or some true contender, his defensive shortcomings would not allow the ice time. He came to a crap team! Now that there good, everyone is noticing how he really isn't. If he could be had for 4-5 mill, and play mostly weaker lines and powerplay then that's cool. But any of you who think he's just gonna come out of this and be amazing next year and lead the LEafs all that way your absolutely nuts. He is what he is. His captaincy was given to him by a dumb coach who never should have put that type of pressure on him.

Really? Because him and his team played much better against Boston than this Rangers squad with one of the best goalies in the world and supposed top notch defense.

Gardiner didn't even make the team this season and was only playing because of injury. Hell they had Mike Kostka in the lineup before him.

By the way Boston played down the stretch I think it took until 10mins left in game 7 to wake up and they haven't slowed down since.

I don't agree sorry. They played strong the first half of the series. Toronto played with heart and determination and their speed gave Boston fits.

Boston looks good but not unbeatable now the Rangers don't look that impressive

Maybe Toronto has just been a better team this year than the Rangers. I mean, they did finish ahead of the Rangers, didn't they?

Look forward to seeing how you try to spin that like an idiot.

agree, but that game in Boston today should be good. i don't think this series is over yet. Lundqvist will need to absolutely steal this game today but if he does, we're in for an epic finish to the series.

You responded to a post talking about how the Leafs fared better than the Rangers against Boston, and brushed it off with comment on how it's only because the Bruins "didn't wake up till the end of the Leafs series"....

You going to deny that? It's right there.

Good Dman. Not as good as his salary. Needs help too. The Leafs need an elite Dman. If they picked up an elite dman, and pushed everyone down one spot, they'd have one of the best d lineups in the league.

Please list all the elite dman in the NHL. If you include Seabrook ya may as well not even bother.

No, Seabrook is not elite. Good enough to make Team Canada though.

Today? No. Nor would Phaneuf. So what's your point? He might have last year, and might next year though.

I did say the Bruins woke up against the Leafs. My exact point. Didn't have (frank)all to do with the Rangers.

Just curious then.

When you say "I think it took until 10mins left in game 7 to wake up and they haven't slowed down since." who exactly have they not slowed down against? Or, were you referring to their pace at practice?

I would interpret that as saying that the Bruins weren't playing to their potential and at about the 50 minute mark of game 7, they have picked up their game. Doesn't matter who their opponent is, it's a measurement of the Bruins.

Why waste so much effort on an interpretation of what HH meant. He probably knows what he meant better than the rest of us.

Gardiner didn't make the team in the first place because of injury.

Convenient little fact to leave out, eh?
