So assuming Jones, MacKinnon, Drounin, Barkov are four of the top 5 who goes 5th and is your perennial all star?

Valeri Nichushkin - Darnell Nurse - Elias Lindholm

- mayorofangrytown

Of those, Nichushkin. But Sean Monahan could easily be another perennial all star caliber player.

Thrower was suspended for the rest of the MC, but that might only turn out to be one game.

Still needed to be done, more shocked no penalty was called.

I see the NHL refs arent the only ones trying to officiate through severe eye injuries. I hope Leier is ok. That was nasty to watch.

Pulock will be the next MacInnis and play for the Flyers starting next season.

Because I'm an evil person, I'm going to predict that Nichushkin is going to be the next Pavel Bu.. I mean Brendl.

If he goes #3 to Tampa I will actually be quite happy. Him + Stamkos + St. Louis = good ass line.

Maybe not, I was going on the basis that Tampa apparently has said that if Nich commits to playing in NA over KHL that they'd take him. He has the physical edge combined with speed and skill that reminds me of Ovy. I don't think he'll ever be that good, but I think he can come within a couple tiers of that.

To many he's been above even Seth Jones at various points this season.

and everyone's game has warts at this point. its as much art as science in trying to figure out who is going to be able to be developed. and probably there's an equal amount of luck too.

A lot of the draft is really a guessing game as to who will be a success and who won't.........you watch them and study them as often as possible & you trust what you've watched.........In the end you want to hit on a certain % to be successful as a GM/Team.

I could be wrong, but over the last 15 years, I think the Flyers have drafted one guy who was playing in Europe in the first round (Danius Zubrus). I kind of expect that trend to continue this year.

but he said he wants to be a Flyers because he plays with them in video games. that must mean something. Right?

Please dont take another forward in the 1st. Every GM in the league has us pinned down to a pinball machine over top 4 D men. Maybe if all of Jones, Nurse, Pulock, Ristolienen are gone... but please just no.

I can see the rangers taking another step back next year. They can buyout Richards which leaves a glaring hole at center. They are thin in the forward ranks

It will be interesting to see what they do with him. Untradable with that deal, but not much better options in FA.

I think you may be disappointed. I can see them drafting Horvat or Shinkaruk.

I wouldn't say untradeable. STL has a dire need of skilled forwards and assets to spare elsewhere.

they might need to take a step or two back in order to move forward.
