Jordan Schroeder & David Booth for Burmistrov and a 2nd round pick. - LeftCoaster
Jets won't do that. I'd offer Schroeder and Cannata(great goalie in college, solid in the AHL so far). Or Schroeder and a 2nd round pick.
I'd bet Winnipeg would want one of Tanev/Corrado/Jensen/Gaunce/Kassian though. |

It's his name! He would be a little less interesting if his name was Mike Johnson. |

If that's all it takes to get Del Zotto, sign the Oilers up!
But seriously, Jets need to add to get Del Zotto, not the other way around. |

they still hold him higher regard than he was when he was drafted even though he has 3 points in 65 games and threw a bigtime hissyfit |

Do you have a Burmistrov? He's good but not the pp qb we hoped, plus they have Moore who's got more upside. |

To Burmi's credit he hasn't come out and said anything. The report is simply hearsay or sources. He is a 21 yr old who was rushed to early into the NHL by Atlanta. He should have had further seasoning in Junior or the AHL.
I have every confidence that Chevy will be looking at the big picture. There are lots of UFA's and RFA's on the Jets and there are also lots of teams looking to make moves with the salary cap in mind. The Jets roster is going to look a lot different next season and I really hope that Burmi is a part of it.
One piece missing from the Lawless column is what Burmi is looking for in a new contract. If he is going to be offered a contract with a lower base and lots of incentive clauses that could be tough to swallow if he isn't going to be given the opportunity to achieve them.
If it was up to me I would rather see Noel go than Burmi, especially now that AV is available and would look real good back behind the bench at the MTS Centre! - Muskwa
I can assure you that Buff has not asked for a trade. However, I would not be surprised if his name was dangled out there. He can designate 5 teams in his NTC that he will be traded to.

I think that the Jets or anyone could take Booth for far less than that. In fact they might be able to sign him for nothing after compliance buyouts are done.
That being said I doubt he ends up in Winnipeg as he is a left wing and the Jets need more on the right side. |

I actually think he'll be back next season, I doubt that Gillis asks Aquilini to buyout both Ballard and Booth. Ballard is a goner for sure, but I'd say it's about 60/40 that Booth comes back. I agree that he minimal trade value and doesn't make sense for Winnipeg in a Burmistrov deal. |

Burmi for Chris Stewart, please. Both have internal issues with their respective organizations. |

GOD? No. But is it so hard for you to imagine that he's just a forward we'd rather see play for us than have traded for every single player rumored to be on the trade market? For the third thread now, we don't want to trade him and more for Miller. Sorry, man. He's a big forward with skill who looks like he's finally figured a few things out this season. If he pans out, he's exactly the type of player the Isles could use.
We're not eager to deal Strome either. Doesn't mean we think he's GOD. They both are just players we're looking forward to seeing in Islanders jerseys. |

You're sure on the warpath to get him on the Sabres over the past week for a player you hold in such low regard! |

Fire Noel. Hire AV - Flames1977
seeing how well AV got along with kesler, I doubt him and kane would click.
And definitely trade Burmistov now then as AV will destroy any confidence that kid has left |

Rangers have a little bit of a CAP problem... (ref Canucks)... so they'll be clearing out someone for little or no return. |

I have no issue with them still holding him with high regard. He's young and was rushed, but played well this year in the AHL. But it's not like I said the rights to Clitsome, Chris Thorborn and a 6th for Nino. |

Too early to tell. The Jets have lots of RFA/UFA's to sign. Who stays and who goes will help dictate what holes they will need to fill if they trade Burmi or anyone else.
Based on Chevy's track record at the draft table he seems to like North American born players, at least 6'3" with talent and attitude. Problem is nobody wants to trade them and you have to draft em. |

It's about needs and the Jets NEED a second line RW or C. Could Scheifele be that guy in the middle? Sure but it may not happen this year.
Burmistrov is and can be a PK beast- his numbers are excellent in that capacity and when paired with Kane on the PK they are awesome.
So looking for a return is based on two things- do you fill his position with some one directly in the trade? I.E. trading him as a C to get an RW.
Or
Do you trade him to fill a different hole and try to replace his spot another way?
The names of Stafford and such thrown out from the trade deadline seem too steep to me but the Jets have draft picks to sweeten the pot. |

he's not at the level where he can request a trade, so he's tarnishing his name that being said, and hate to say it, but i can see why young players would get bored in Winnipeg, Kane would have left too, but he was wise enough to realize that would have been a tough stain to erase on his resume, is it a shock that Buff wants out too?
even though Phoenix is a terrible hockey market, its still PHOENIX! (stuff to do), same goes for the Isles before this season even when things were terrible its still N.Y.C., the southern teams with no fanbases have at least nice weather going for em...etc..
comparatively Winnipeg doesnt have much going for it if the team isnt winning....i'm not saying this to hate, but this kind of stuff shouldnt shock fans too much is all....its a case of 'sad but true'
Have you ever been to Winnipeg or are you basing your opinion on what you read from other people who have never been here?
this is likely gonna keep happening with non-canadian players......sad but true
Burmistrov will get his trade but he'll only have one more chance to prove himself, after that he'll have the KHL - Habitants98

Burmistrov straight up for Stafford would be a nice win for Buffalo. |

I've said it all along, the Jets and the Wild need to hire real coaches. With the recent firing of Vigneault, that would be a great start for them. There needs to be better production from their high end prospects, cause they are not going to get help from free agency.
Winnipeg is going to have the same problem as the Oilers have and thats the ability to sign big ticket free agents. They are going to have to start drafting beyond their abilities. Soon you will find out if Cheveldayoff and his scouting staff are for reals. |
