If you ask me, other then Couturier, I'm not a fan of the recent drafts. As a matter of fact, I would rather Hamilton over Couturier. I'll give the 2010-2012 draft a generous C-.

I think the Flyers should show a shot video about Pelle to every new Flyer, especially the young ones. You can't stop them from owning fast cars, but maybe you can put fear into them.

Hockey representative Jakub Voracek morning crashed near Kladno his Ferrari California. Philadelphia Flyers attacker was driving too fast for a truck that wanted to turn and did not stop in time. The accident took place without injury, incurred when the damage for more than three million crowns. "It was such a tiny accident. It's not worth mentioning," said Voráček for Blesk.cz.

I wonder if it was his fault or the trucks...

EDIT: Sounds like he was going too fast to stop for a turning truck

So then you are judging it based off of later round picks who havent made immediate impacts? C- seems pretty accurate.

Look at the number of players that are either NHL caliber players already, or have serious potential to be, that have been drafted in the past three drafts:

McGinn
Couts, Cousins, Derek Mathers (enforcer)
Laughton, Stolarz, Ghost, Leier

Heres an actual good article from philly.com. Not suprisingly, its a link from SBnation and wasnt written by Car or Serv

It seemed contrived and stats driven. Now they were all interesting stats but it used them to jump to some conclusions rather than actually addressing some of the things that were actually happening on the ice.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out that production is related to ice time and I don't need two graphs to tell me that but he worked the situation backwards. He started with the results and tried to correlate that backwards but stopped without considering the circumstances that caused the decrease in ice time.

He did put in a lot of work and it was informative up to the point he stopped writing about the impact of differing line-mates.

I guess I am evalutating it based on filling team needs, players not only progressing, but taking the next step.

Couturier is a good player, and will be. No fault for drafting him. He was ranked number 1 at one point. Hamilton would have filled the FLyers need better, but again I cant fault them there.

McGinn is likely a bottom 6 forward if that. I like him, but not in love with him. Cousins has yet to play in the Pros, no telling what he will bring, and managment is saying he still has work to do.

I have issue with the Laughton pick. You already have Couturier, Schenn, Giroux, and Cousins... I think it was a botched pick. This would have been a pick to trade up or trade down to target a team need.

Mathers... Goon-shmoon, easy to get guys that can fight.

Stolarz will likely take another 3-4 years to even make an appearence, if he acn survive that long. I've seen too many goalies that look great, that never make the transition... Little, JM Pellitier, Oulette, and on and on and on.

Gostisbere is intriguing, but it really upsets me they are letting this kid take another year in college. That is another year waisted, then he will ahve to spend another year on top of that in the AHL, and another year adjusting to the NHL... Start the curve now, get him in the AHL.

I really dont know enough about Leire to have an opinion, but the fact I don't know much is, well, telling.

He said, "It was just a little accident."

That doesn't look like a "little accident" to me. That looks like a crash, a car fire and a totaled auto.

My point is that you cant really grade a test while it is still being taken.

Giving out grades because guys havent had an impact yet (despite the fact that most of them are 18-19 year olds) is pretty bogus. Also, by drafting Laughton (who a lot of scouts RAVED about after he returned from the Flyers) its gives you options.

The only way Laughton can be a botched pick, is if he turns out to be a flop. And not turn into a solid NHL player. As as far as the Flyers allowing Ghostibhere to play another year of College. The Flyers don't have the authority to tell him he can't do so.

Someone did a redraft of that year (I can't remember who, it may have been THN) and Laughton went right after the top 10.

Despite the fact that they need to improve their D, they should take their time with Ghostisbehere. He will get his shot.

So your telling me there wasnt anything the Flyers could have done to address a positional need instead of drafting another Center? Maybe trading down to take Ollie Maata, Mike Matheson, or Malcom Subban? Or trade up for Cody Ceci? Or better yet, trade that 1st for a first in this years draft which is considered much deeper.
