For all-time he should be in everyone's top 5. I was too young to watch him play live. - Nucker101

Sid hands down, speed, vision, power, honestly this question shouldn't even be close if people actually watched the games vs. blindly hating the guy.
But haters gonna hate. So get to it.

Good question.
I would have to say as a Nucks fan Bure and the Twins. Never have I seen two more uniquely insane players as the Twins. They get a ton of underserved hate, but I think most people realize that they do things that no one else can, or ever have done. Is it because their twins and have always played together? Yep, doesn't change how insane it is to watch them shift to shift.
Forsberg, Mario, Jagr, Datsyuk, Lidstrom, Chara, Ovi are other guys I'm honoured to watch. Oh, and Hasek...he was something else. Just nuts.
Crosby just does everything so well that it sort of flies under the radar. I enjoy watching Malkin and Letang more, from a wow standpoint. |

Detroit has had a lot of fun, great players, but they're not once in a generation talent if they always have one or two or three of those players at a time.
The NHL has been blessed with a TON of great, fun players spread across the league for the last 3 decades or so, despite the downturn in scoring. |

Datsyuk is a once in a species talent.
Arguably an alien really.

Well right now I have to say Crosby, and I also love watching Malkin play.
All-time I would like to have seen Gretzky play live.
As a different take on the question, I remember when the Leafs rented Brian Leetch for a short period, I was blown away by how smart he was as a player and I was glad I got to watch him closely for thirty games or whatever it was. |
