Ovi and Backstrom have been just as invisible. This series is all about Hags Brassard Boyle and Co. vs. Johanson Ward Chimera and Co.
Guys liek Step, Cally, Nash, Ovi, Backstrom, Ribero (aside from 1 goal). Are being matched up against and stopped. Its the secondary guys that have a chance in this series going against the weaker D pairings.
was just reading an article about playoff money this spring, it went up in the new CBA
this is breakdown:
Assuming 25 shares per team, each player would receive $10,000 for a first-round exit this spring, $20,000 for a second-round exit, $50,000 for a third-round exit, $90,000 for losing in the Stanley Cup final and $150,000 for winning a championship.

And if Im not mistaken, all the bonuses count against the cap, so if the Rangers did make it out of the 1st round and raised the Cup... that would add nearly 4 million to the Rangers salary screwing things up pretty big for the resigning situation.

I don't know if that's true, that would seem crazy
I believe thats what happened to the Blackhawks in 2010 and why they couldnt hold on to Buff, they had around 4 million in bonus money added to their salary cap.

No, those bonuses were met by guys on ELCs. Toews, in particular. Only ELCs can have bonuses on i..well at least in the old CBA. Haven't read the new one...
Playoff money does not apply to the cap next year.

And the fact they didnt sign their qualifying offers in time......
EDIT: Was Talon around for that or gone by then? I thought he was gone like the year prior and then they won the cup so basically it was the team he built that won it.

That's a joke just in case someone gets bent out of shape. - Blueshirts4ever
There are people at Verizon who don't know much about hockey, but probably the same in MSG in the expensive seats, right ? A lot of the hardcore fans have been priced out of the arenas.
Hate the fans that do that, but it isn't unique to DC. - MadCap2008
Anyone who sits in those seats in any arena look like dumbasses. A real fan would pay less and sit farther back so they can actualyl see both ends of the ice. That is unless those seats are free for whatever reason.

Hi, nice to meet you! ... I try and go to 3-4 a year. Didnt go to a single one at MSG this year. Cheapest tickets on stub hub for seats that werent behind the net were $100 before fees against the (frank)ing Panthers on a random tuesday.

I tend to sit down there...nature of my job and i'm very lucky to get offered vendor tickets from time to time. There are some dumbasses around, but from what I've seen a lot of the guys with the tickets there are actual fans - just lucky that their company pays for them. A lot of the vendors (at least the ones i deal with) enjoy taking real fans to the games much more than jackasses who don't know hockey.
A lot of people who don't like hockey won't go to games, as opposed to NBA/MLB where that shyte is easier to 'get'

Yea we get many suits at games. But that's more regular season. Jimmy and I went to game 4 and it was all diehards. My ears are still ringing and my voice is still scratchy
