Interesting post. I have posted on this board for years and have yet to see a post by you ever. I'm willing to bet you aren't a Pens fan.

He's not. Just a troll pretending to be a Pens fan to incite everyone. Pretty pathetic.

i would like them to see what Bernier would cost them and im not a big fan of his.. but for the right price they have to inquire about Luongo.

I think Smith is a system goalie, i wouldn't want anything to do with him.
Bernier will still cost a ton, Luongo's price has to be getting lower and lower, they NEED to unload him, they asked for so much and failed every time.

I can't moderate posts by him or Ridin n tdot.

I don't think either are real fans, just troll accounts. Somebody else will be by shortly i'm sure if they get out of hand.

Congrats to the Penguins...that said, very proud of this team this year. That took A LOT longer than I thought it would. Now they know what it feels like to be on the wrong end of the handshake, and I hope they hate it with every fiber of their collective being for the next month or so.

It's all part of the learning process, along with not sh*tting the bed against Buffalo, Carolina and Philly, when 3 wins would have allowed them to give Montreal a first round a$$ whipping, instead of losing to Pittsburgh.

....Now, FORWARD....

Two large, mobile, defensive defensemen, and a younger goalie are necessary additions to the 2013-14 NY Islanders. Start talking to bottom feeders like Phoenix and Nashville now- it's time to convince them that our draft picks and prospects will do their cr*p teams more good than their highly paid players ever will.

If a team like Phoenix doesn't have any money, and a team like Nashville has decided it is time to start over, it is time to see if we can get one of Yandle or Weber. I can see Nashville wanting to keep the goalie, to at least keep their fans interested while they retool that team, but Weber at this point is just costing them a lot of money, for no reason. Legwand is old, and Erat and Suter are gone. I'd be glad to pass them Nino and Reinhart if we can hook the big fish from their blue line.

Also, Niklas Backstrom would be fine in the net for the next two or three years, especially since a guy like Nilsson would likely look up to someone like him. Garth should also talk to Douglas Murray's agent on July 5th, as well. It's time for Garth's GM testicles to drop, and it's time for Charles to put his money to GOOD use for a change....starting with buying Ricky D. out of his personal services contract.

This bunch deserves to have a REAL shot next year, no matter who they're playing, and the people who have stuck with their season tickets through thick and thin deserve to have a year where those ducats are finally worth something when the holder has to sell them online, other than for the rag$ game. I knew this time would come sooner or later, and it is here. Here we go, Garth and Charles....time for you to make us as proud as your team did this spring...

what would you think of the isles going after mike smith in the offseason?

i'd be pretty wary as he could be another "system goalie" similar to bryz but he wouldn't cost any assets for you guys.

- rangerdanger94

After ripping him I'll say this, I'd resign Nabby for a year, then allow Poulin or Nilsson to split games with him 50/50 but gradually decreasing Nabbys workload. Both Poulin and Nilsson deserve a chance

If DP was out of the picture Yes, but he wasnt till midway through the season.

But they figured on Nabby & DP to man the net for the isles
& Keven & Anders to man the net for the Tigers, So i understood why they cut him lose.. But Anders got struck with his illness, DP proved he couldnt play in the NHL.. you know the rest.

Naa I would have preferred Nabby & Al, over Nabby & DP

Keven could have played a full season in Bridgeport maybe even competed for a championship & Anders could have been his back up

I think you'll all agree but this is the "punchlist for this summer":

- A goaltender- Smith or Bernier are my top choices...

- A power forward who is a top six forward and play with Tavares;

- A top 4 defenseman (who has size) who can play big minutes...

It's time for my ticket money to fund a top flight NHL team, instead of a low rent, "small market" (10 minutes from New York City....ahem.....bullsh*t) bottom feeder. I'll bet you this- if the guys who own the Nets owned this team, what I said is EXACTLY what they'd try to do. These guys basically have one more off-season to make that kind of thing happen, before they join the big time, and all of the excuses go away, forever...remember, we're not talking about doing stupid things to "make the playoffs"...this is already a playoff team. It's time to play with the big boys, now...

Ya know.. if not for their fans, I would be rooting for the Leafs to come out of the east, they have a nice young team alot like ours & they are fun to watch..... but that fan base makes it hard to root for them.

The Leafs almost mirror you guys exactly. They have more consistent goaltending. I want Boston to take them out quickly tomorrow.

Nabby sucked and isn't an elite goalie...I'd trade a pick and Nino and get Bernier...did you see Quick last night...he kept the Kings in the game until the vets on the team took over...

If you think Nabby's glove hand is bad, watch Montoya some time. If you watch the slo-mo replay, you'll think you paused the DVR....no thanks...

Congrats on a great season. Welcome back to playoff hockey and cheering a relevant team again. This series proved that I was dead right wanting no part of the Isles. in the first round. No way we should have won tonight. We all knew what JT would bring, but Grabner and especially Okposo impressed the hell out of me.

Al is average at best. He and his 2.90 gaa would never have seen the ice either during this series. The Isles were married to Nabby no matter who was on the bench.

Isles and Isles fans have nothing to hang your head about. I know you all are proud of your team and you should be. It was a hell of a series folks. Honestly I can say that the Pens did not deserve to win tonight. The future is bright for you guys. Embrace it and rejoice, many good things are coming your way.
