Bickell is a free agent this year... big solid winger, would be a great addition!!!
- jimmc7722

Jim, good catch Bickell is a UFA...only made $500,000 so he could get a good raise...How about Tyler Bozak...good faceoff man, great on the PK...get 20 goals, good skater...

Yea... it would be nice.

Not sure what Chicago has planned with the new salary cap coming in... they need to make some changes.

I love watching the BlackHawks play... such a good team.

While I like the idea our team is currently over stacked at center

OK....so if someone offered you Sidney Crosby for Nino, would you tell me that Nino isn't going anywhere? Because if the answer is yes, you're fired..
- dcb1

no one is offering us Crosby for Nino.... Nino isnt being moved.

I actually think its the opposite. The true Islander fans will travel anywhere to see them.
- Vukota

I agree, but alot of "true islander fans" cant afford the train into Brooklyn plus the hike in ticket price... I think new fans in Brooklyn will offset the loss... but they will lose a big chunk of original fan base (at the games) because of the move.

I saw this on another site and thought it was an interesting idea, would you guys be happy with a Strome for Gardiner deal? It's complete speculation and I know fans of both teams would probably lobby for added pieces, but I thought it was one of the more reasonable fan posts I've seen (most people who play G.M. are reaaaaally bad at it). I'm happy with Gardiner and would be content with him as a Leaf for a long time, but if a player like Strome was available I'd be happy with the swap.

Again, just goofy fan speculation. Curious about how Islander fans would feel.

Best of luck next year!

You think it's that one-sided? I don't know, not going to defend it. I just figured I'd bring it up.

I'm just messing with you. Strome is a blue chip prospect and I can't see them moving him unless its a deal they can't turn down.

A lot of "true Islanders fans" couldn't be bothered to go see the team when it was five minutes from their doorstep with low ticket prices

I don't care if Penguins fans felt that they had excuses why we dominated them in several games. The game isn't about excuses. We had many chances to score but we didn't while Penguins capitalized on that and did their job. I tip my hat off to them but it doesn't mean they beat us easily. We had them trembling. They know it and we know it. End of discussion. I am looking forward to this fall. Can it be OCtober already?!!! I am dying to know what God Snow has in store for us! I just hope that we will draft good players at fifteenth. If we couldn't find what we want, trade it with first round pick in 2015 to get a player. Trade two first rounds and nino to get a player....mmmm Evander Kane???? I could imagine this.

IF everyone want to keep Moulson because he can score 30 goals. I understand that but I strongly feel that he is one dimensional player. During the playoffs, it was noticed.

I don't think that's realistic. One average season and we write Moulson off of the roster? We're also throwing rookies into several incredibly important roles and assuming that they'll excel.

Snow is going to have the kids compete, no one is a lock next yr, bc isles have control over them.
Devils, Hawks, Sens, RedWings, Caps, etc all developed their kids in the system, no one was rushed....that's the advantage the isles have, and that's the precedent Snow will take....

If Nino, Strome, Nelson, Lee, Donovan, etc can win a spot, then they deserved it, if not, it only helps their development to all play 2gether in Bridgeport

F@ck you... you piece of Sh@t!!!!!!

You're still doing what you do best... Troll!!!

You will always be CLASSLESS!!!

What kind of a person comes on a blog after the series is over to provoke others?

- jimmc7722

Thanks.

First off, my apologies to the rest of the group here. I have to reiterate, I've gained a new level of respect for 99% of the Islanders fans here throughout this series, particularly those here who engaged in some good natured banter with me and other Pens fans for the past 2 weeks. You guys are dedicated fans and we had some good hockey talk.

Jim, By and large, you were the only one from this group consistently coming to the Pens board rubbing it in and trolling during the series when the Isles won, but never had the balls to show up when they lost. You are not only a troll, but a cowardly one at that, so I'm sorry, but you don't get to just crawl back under your bridge without taking a bit of your own medicine.

This will be my last post on the subject, since its not fair to the rest of your gang to clutter up the board and I've said what I have to say. Have a lovely offseason, and remember, deep breaths, and use those periods (.)!!!

I don't think you will see anyone making excuses. Your guys played great. If they had gotten better goaltending and been able to kill even a few more penalties, it might have gone differently. I still remember the series in 82 when the Pens were the huge underdog and pushed the Isles to the brink. I was 9, and it was the first year I really got into hockey and when the Pens lost, it was crushing, but it cemented my love for the team and the sport. I hope you guts flourish in your new digs.

I think Moulson's the least of the things that the Isles have to address. He's OK where he is until the other holes are addressed. After that, if they can upgrade Moulson's spot, then great.

Agreed...he has one more year on his contract...if they can't sign him by the trade deadline then you might see something...hard to replace 30 goal scorers...remember I believe it was his first time in the playoffs also...

I dont think Moulson will be off the roster either.. but his line up was very realistic, he didnt have 2 new all-stars on D an all-star goalie & 2 40 goal scorers added to the line up. Which some people just love to do.

I'd say with Strome, Nelson and Nino all presumably ready to join the club, the Isles should at least start dropping Moulsons name in trade conversations. Entering the final year of his contract, it's highly unlikely he'll remain a top six forward on this team beyond next year if even after traininng camp. At that point he has absolutely no value to this team.

I was thinking more like

Moulson- Tavares- Bailey
Grabner- Strome- Okposo
Martin- Nelson- Joensuu
Ullstrome- Cizikas- McDonald

Harmonic- Visnoysky
Streit- Trade
Trade - Carkner

Trade
Poulin

I love the size and speed through out the line up. Add two big nasty dman and a good young goalie.
Can't wait until October!!!!!
