Dee I don't think it's the end, it's obviously a new beginning...unfortunately, truly unfortunate it won't be happening on Long Island, where the team belongs. A sad move to Brooklyn,,,how many of us will actually be there...over 1 hour from Huntington, nearly $100 for the LIRR for a family of 4, that's before we get there. The days of the Barn, are sadly coming to a close. The days of true Islanders fans will be left behind...

His agent made the remarks, not Nino.....
I would only deal him for Ryan, Kane type of player....

- Ur Not Me

You aren't getting a Ryan or a Kane (Patrick or Evander) or that type of player for Nino. Don't be ridiculous. Those aren't the ones you should even worry about. If you trade him and add a first rounder, you need another Dman and a starting goalie. Really, you don't need to add another high priced forward. Your transition game and youth are strong enough without big named additions.

Lucic?
- mighty13duck

I doubt the Bruins deal a guy like Lucic. I also doubt the Isles deal their first rd pick considering we no longer have a second. Garth has stood pat through the last couple of years, showing that he is determined to let this team evolve internally. I simply don't see him making a big trade at this point. If anything, the injection of guys like Nelson, Strome and Nino will be a huge addition of talent for this team. I'd expect a big UFA signing at defense and little else. Based on the way this team played over final month and this series, I'm okay with something like this
Bailey Tavares Nino
Okposo Strome Moulson
Grabner Nielsen Nelson
McDonald Cizikas Martin
Hamonic. UFA
VIS DONNOVAN
MacDonald Martinek/Strait
Poulin/Nilsson/Nabby

What do we do with the 15th pick?

Max Domi???

Should be interesting offseason... Snow has his work cut out for himself.

Streit, Nabby, Boyes, Bailey???

Need to get Hamonic a new contract... he just earned himself a new contract.

3 million easy!!!

Buyout of DP or let him play in Bridgeport one more year?

Do Strome, Nelson, and Donovan make the team?

What about Nino... does he take JJ spot?

Reinhart playing in Bridgeport?

Do we try and sign Horton or Bickell?

Also have to wait and see who get bought out, and who needs to make trades to get under the new salary cap!!!

Bickell is going to be a good one...not sure he is a free agent...Horton has concussion history so he could be risk plus he made $5 million this year...

Couldn't be prouder of the boys. We took the most stacked team in the league almost down to the wire. None of us saw that coming before this season. I'm (frank)ing proud as poop. The Isles are back, see you next year in the playoffs.

Tough to watch the run come to an end, but it was a great run. Great season. Great effort in playoffs. I've been an Isles fan for over 30 years and I haven't been able to say this very much over the past 20, but I'm super proud of the team and organization. They made this season fun. Looking forward to next year already.

I love Nabby, but if they are to grow as a team, they need to address the goaltending situation. Nabby is going to be 38. They need to decide if Poulin/Nilsson are the guys and if they aren't, go trade for "the guy". Bernier. Get it done. Nino and a pick should do it.

Cory Schneider can't be moved, for Lu 100% has to be moved according to the last Canucks blog.
- Danformo

Luongo is the wrong guy. You already have one 30-something goaltender with a ridiculous contract on the roster. Trading for another one is a huge mistake. You're going to pay Luongo a ton of money into his 40's for declining play. He is too old for this core. If they are going to trade for a goaltender, it should be a kid in his 20's, to grow with the rest of the team (Bernier).

I say trade the pick to address a need...first line winger or, if necessary, a goalie (still think many solid goaltenders fall through the cracks and can be had for...not a lot. Vokoun is an example. Heck, so is Nabby).

Let Streit walk or get a third rounder for his rights maybe. Re-sign Nabby as a 1A...good vet presence, the team seems to like him, and he can still take a bunch of starts and keep the team in games in the regular season. He can't be the starter for future playoff runs though. Let boyes walk -- Snow has to do whatever it takes to bring in a better option on Tavares' wing. Re-sign Bailey...that should be a given.

Yep, get Hamonic a contract. Don't see them losing him. $3m is fine, imo.

Love to see a buyout on DP...but the cost would be astronomical. But not having him as an option in the playoffs I think shows that chapter is closed for the Isles. Maybe he continues his career in Bridgeport...or retires when he realizes that's his fate.

I think one of Strome and Nelson will make the team. The other will be first-line center in BPort. Donovan should be given every chance to make the team. He's earned that opportunity...great attitude, good abilities at both ends of the ice, and great drive. Unless he comes into camp thinking a spot on the team is a given, he should make it.

Think Nino will be given every opportunity to make the team as well. I don't think he'll be traded unless he and Snow are really like oil and water. If they do trade him, I think it should be for an established power forward...Nino and a first for Vanek? (provided Vanek wants out of Buffalo and would be open to signing an extension with the Isles) That'd kick the Sabres' rebuild into another gear and give Tavares his winger.

I thought Reinhart had to go back to juniors?

I wouldn't hold my breath on FAs. I still won't believe they'll be lining up to come here until I see it happen. Outbidding other GMs and putting on the charm offensive to recruit players just don't seem like Snow's strong points to me.

If you can pry him away from Chicago (I think the Hawks resign him), that would be a great get. I love the way he plays.

Agreed.. Isles need a stay at home D-man , a guy that clears the crease and who can protect a lead.. A #1 goalie is a must as well , Nabby would be a great back up but a #1 goalie is a must.. try with Poulin the first 15 / 20 games you will find out after 5 / 10 games how he handles the situation.. Looking fwd to a great start next year.. GO ISLES and thanks for a great shortened season..

Well after watching this season come to a close... I think we now know what we need to succeed.

A little more size on defence and on forward.

We need to give Tavares somebody to play with.... Boyes and Bailey just doesn't cut it!!!

The more I think of it... the more I see Strome on the top line with Tavares and Moulson.

And we need to find a younger goalie to grow with this team.

Obviously... Bailey... Neilson...KO will stay together.

Along with ...McDonald... CC... Martin.

Maybe a... Grabner...Nelson... Nino combo???

On "D".... maybe Amac... Hamonic

Vis... Strait

Carkner....Hickey

Definately need to work on our defence... whether it be bringing back Streit, moving up Donovan, or some kind of a trade.

Reinhart might need some time in the A to get used to the speed of the game.

Wow.

Hey Jim, you learned how to use a period instead of an exclamation point! So proud of you.

Your team played great in a losing effort and you should be very proud of them.

I told you a few days ago as soon as you got on your meds you'd feel better. I have to admit, I was a bit concerned for your well being since as soon as the Pens started winning the last 2 games you stopped showing up to troll on our board. I was hoping that maybe you finally were getting some much needed therapy. Hope I was right. The first step is admitting you need help.

Keep up with you therapy and stay on your meds, and follow the fine example many of the other very classy Isles fans that are here (and that I've come to respect) set and maybe you won't be such an ass next season if you choose to visit our board again.

Meanwhile, have a lovely offseason.

Bickell is an interesting case.

Most Hawks fans wanted to give him away for nothing over the last few years because he doesn't play to his size on a consistent basis.

He's finally starting to come around but we all learned the same lesson with Byfuglien. It takes a long time to make a big body skill player a big body physical player at the NHL level.

Blake Wheeler is another example in Winnipeg.

I think you guys are in a great position going forward, this experience in the playoffs will only help the young guys and make them more hungry. I saw someone mention Bernier from the Kings for goalie, I think that would be a nice addition. Young guy that can grow with the team back there and he already has some NHL experience.
