Thank you Toronto for showing us that pain is relative. Losing the way we did doesn't seem as bad now.

I see Hitch as a little like Keenan

Funny how Hull went from playing with Keenan to winning a Cup with Hitch. Little Keenan. How about we ask Brett Hull about that observation?

I'd take it with some salt since the same guy said that Schwartz would continue to loaf under Hitch.

Gotta love Hawks fans. It's not their fault though - most just started watching hockey in 2008.

I think it is either 18th or 20th. Not sure if division winners that lose in the 1st round get the last spots, or if it is strickly by points.

15 - NYI - 55 pts
16 - Minn - 55 pts
17 - Tor - 57 pts
18 - Stl - 60 pts
19 - Wash - 57 pts (DW)
20 - Van - 59 pts (DW)
21 - Mon - 63 pts (DW)
22 - Ana - 66 pts (DW)

Or if it is strickly by points:

15 - NYI - 55 pts
16 - Minn - 55 pts
17 - Wash - 57 pts (DW)
18 - Tor - 57 pts
19 - Van - 59 pts (DW)
20 - Stl - 60 pts
21 - Mon - 63 pts (DW)
22 - Ana - 66 pts (DW)

I don't hate Elliott. I just realize that he is not a goalie that this current Blues team can have in goal and go deep in the playoffs.I already knew that before this series.

I wish we could have seen Halak against the Kings to know if he is a guy that can take this current team deep. He got hurt last year early, and this year didn't get a chance. Personally, I think that was a mistake. With the way we played, if we had Halak in net IMO we win this series.

I think Hitch had the perfect opportunity to put him in for game 5, and blew it.

Now, we have to make a decision on goaltending without really knowing if Halak can be the guy to take these Blues deep. I trust Armstrong, but this offseason really scares me.

I know it's kneejerk for Blues fans to blame everything on goaltending, but that was hardly the problem this series. In fact, it was a strength. Not worried about Elliott.

Not the only problem. But goaltending was the reason that we didn't move on. Our goaltending was good. Kings goaltending was outstanding.

Not too many teams win in the playoffs with just good goaltending. Giving up pretty soft goals in overtime or pressure situations like Elliott did in Games 5 & 6 to me makes his performance just good. I know that some will look at the stat lines and see very good numbers, but the Blues dominated the play and scoring chances, and Quick really outplayed Elliott. (yes, that is something that I expected) But with how much the players in front of Elliott outplayed the players in front of Quick, I expected the Blues to move on. And they would have moved on if Elliott would have been better in the big games that the Blues needed him to be better in.

In the meantime, I'll probably comment on whatever news comes out from the Blues as the season-ending meetings take place - but it will be a focus on the playoffs and other stuff going on around the league until we get closer to the draft. From there, I'll kick around what to do there, what the plan should be for free agency, and whatever else happens. A week from now, 10 days from now? I'll probably be ready to write a recap and feel good about it.

Guess not.

I used to wonder why there were never any Blues fans here. Not anymore.

I'm still here! I've switch my gears to checking the Blues thread on reddit. There is more discussion so give it a look if you don't already.

Well, since you're still here, the geniuses on the oiler page are trying to say that if a trade offer between Edmonton and St. Louis came between Yakupov for Backes and Pietrangelo that'd it'd be an even trade. Do you agree?
